Hello! My Husband & I adopted a rescue 18month Sheltie. She was given treats frequently by her owner. She is only trained to walk on a lease, she knows her name, sit, somewhat potty trained, crate trained. *How do I end her constant looking for treats when we go outside? *How do I get her to understand go potty outside? (we are on day 3 having her here and she's had one accident. She gets taken out every 2-3 hours and always after she wakes up from a nap, about 15mins. After she's eats, before bed, and in the morning when it's time to get up. *what video should I watch to start her training? Thank you!❤

Hi Jennifer, I will make a video for you and others in your situation. Too many great questions to answer in writing I would have to write an essay. LOL First of all try to slow down and relax! Your anxiety is palpable from here and not helping your keenly astute little sheltie. She is stressed and in a new home and only one accident? That's great. Watch for a video I will call it bringing a new adult dog home or some such.

Would you recommend this same method for a neighborhood with small yards and houses that are close to each other? I have a 6 month mini aussie who's done so well with other commands and tricks, but as soon as the front door opens, he takes off and it takes forever to get him to come back, completely different from when he's on a leash because he listens when he's on a leash. I wouldn't mind his need to roam so much but there's a busy street behind us and the houses here are very close together.

GREAT comment and common problem. You dog is a door dasher. He needs to learn he cannot dash out of the door. If he doesn't have a large fenced area to run he needs an outlet for his energy. This long line method will help him burn energy and learn the come command, but the door dashing has to stop.
