So great that you allow the mules the chance to learn. Good experiences go such a long way! Great to see the trail leading to Halfway. Gorgeous skies!

Meadow Creek Farm yep, we do our best to give them every opportunity to learn and see new things. When you let them learn for themselves, they seem to trust you way easier.

Thanks mate. Unfortunately my videos won’t be as regular for a little while as I’ve moved onto another job. But I’m hoping to make some more in the future.

70 feet but that is excessive if you don’t pack unusually large packs somtimes. But it is nice to have the extra rope and it really doesn’t hurt to have it there

Do you prefer to ride a horse and pack a mule and if so why? I've seen some ride a horse and some ride a mule just wondering what that is all about.

I’d say it’s just rider preference mate. I would say I prefer to ride a horse and pack a mule. In saying that, mules are incredibly comfortable to ride and incredibly smart and good on their feet so there is many advantages to riding a mule. On the other hand you could say that a lead horse kind of becomes the boss of a mule string. So by riding a horse with them all the time, the horse will command the mules a little and help you. My job at the place I worked, on top of packing mules, is to ride horses that need work. So for me I mostly rode greener horses and packed greener mules. The mules at this place were not specifically for riding and were mainly packed. So although we had some that are rideable, most wouldn’t say they are good riding mules. It was more just once you get a good connection with a mule, it seems you can do a lot more with them than you would probably consider they can do. (Ride on a trail and lead a string) I really enjoy riding mules, and I really enjoy riding horses. I don’t know what the correct answer is haha

Are you an outfitter in Banff? If so how does someone reach you?
