"god never reached out in time" I love trainspotting so much! Since there aren't that many edits of the two movies on KZitem, it's nice to see that the existing ones understand the movies concepts to heart, and serve as love letters to these cultural pieces of modern art. Others use their own song ideas, (I'd love to make one of my own someday and I hope I'll do it justice,)you used sylk though, the most emotional piece out of the two films. And probably the one that describe the world that's being shown, some kids who were not able to grow up emotionally, and deal with the consequences of their young naive actions, and the heartbreaker that is nostalgia and regrets... I appreciate it a lot, you taking the time to put up a 3min+ video, and I suppose you are a huge fun, and.....life time trainspotter?haha.

Aye, I hade to grow up without a dad but with support, my father life’s ended when mine started, I was 7 when I watch from our apartment the paramedics rolling him out, he was using that fucking brown stone (heroine) and it fuck he’s body up bad, before he met my mom. he never took care of himself either and that ultimately lead to he’s death. On top of that I was beaten by a step dad at 9, force to watch my mother get beaten as well, I been near death 3 times that almost ended me. I’M STILL HERE, I choose a job, I choose to wake up piss early in the morning, I choose to get my ass there instead of going and shooting up. You have a choice in life and only you can make that choice, you who’s reading this. Trainspotter 1 and 2 are important movies.

I think the first film is more fun to watch but the second is such a meaningful and deep dive into nostalgia and growing up when you’re not ready, and mostly self reflection. there's actually 3 reasons why the movie is called Trainspotting 1. it's common practice for heroin addicts to spot at the heroin flowing through their veins after taking a hit, these black spots resemble trains going on train tracks , hence why it's called Trainspotting 2. the wallpaper in Renton's room is full of trains, during the scene where his parents force him to detox, he has no choice but to spot the trains on his walls to pass the time 3. Irvine Kirchner once went to an abandoned train station to score a hit and encountered his homeless alcoholic dad, his asked asked Irvine asked what he was doing there, Irvine replied "waiting for a train, and you?" his dad said "Trainspotting", this story was later adapted into Begie's character and is one of the stories Spud writes down in T2

Honestly, I didn't watch this video, but I saw trainspotting when it came out and loved the whole choose life speech. But as I got older and due to some serious trauma that life and family were throwing at me I tried heroin in Leyton, rough east London in my m8s car where I was living, due to my crazy dad constantly trying to break me down into his personal unpaid servant by kicking me out constantly which changed me into the ultimate stubborn young man and my dad was easily manipulated by my younger brothers plus when he looked at me he saw my mum, while my brothers were him though and through. Point is I didn't take heroin for a good time, I took it to take away the pain and hurt that comes from putting my family first and having my life ruined at the same time separately by them. And I was constantly told that I was going to be someone when I got older, but every time I had thing's sorted to go away and do voluntary work my father would ruin it, like when my mother was setting me up to become an Occupational therapist, I had to go abroad and do voluntary work which was all set to go. I was to go visit family in Germany and then leave to start my placement, so my dad on the very last evening took me for a walk and threatened to kill himself if I left! He was even half smirking because he knew my compassion was my weak spot. I couldn't tell mum the reason so she washed her hands of me and within 3 weeks I was getting kicked out regularly, for practically nothing sometimes. I write all this because when my mum found out about my rehabilitation she would joke about not letting me watch trainspotting, it was so out of place because trainspotting is a very anti-drug film and didn't glamourise heroin in the way Pulp Fiction did. Plus my girlfriend and I had a stillborn daughter 4 weeks before due date so I was messed up. But the joking about trainspotting really got to me, it was like no one cared in my family and not one came to the funeral, I was supported by some great friends. I think of trainspotting as the most accurate depiction of the life, and I had to pose for photos holding my dead daughter, which was unspeakable and made the baby scenes harder to watch. But trainspotting didn't influence me, it played no part, my troubles came from family trying to break me down, and the choose life speech just came across as capitalist crap later on. I know this is a mega comment but it is a subject I have been dealing with for more than half my life. It is an evil drug and should all be destroyed or cleaned up and used in the rehabilitation programmes, instead of methadone and subutex which are even worse than heroin (in London where I am, maybe other places are different) Thank you for reading all this👊🙏💯👍😮

Spot on. When I first saw Trainspotting, I never knew anyone who did anything more than smoke a joint. I worked in SeniorSupport and Team Leading for 26 years, and addicts 'tricks' are well known now. In the meantime I lived the life of the song, the mortgage, the furniture contracts, the washing machine on payments. Such a true lyric song. A specialist classic. Addiction never goes but can be controlled. Someone has to be ready though. I have worked with them.

@@MrGreaves My daughter became a heroin addict. I didn't know. My mum kept it from me. When mum died, my daughter finally disclosed it. So many tricks in the circle. Tests are rigged. Psychological manipulation of practise nurses. Exploitation of family. Turns out mum gave Cassie money for gear every day providing she never told me. Mum thought she was protecting me. I worked with other families and knew how far addicts go to hide things. End of the Earth. End of the rainbow. I couldn't make a difference, and stand the mental strain any longer - I went to the nearest airport, and got on any plane. Turned out to be Egypt. Egypt was anywhere, it could have been Mars, I was only running away. Now I help others. At least I know how they feel. Just hope we can help.

@@MrGreaves Well, motivation for editing is hard to come by and only really lasts for 50% of the editing process, so I can't blame you lmao. Good luck with that

My life has killed my soul. All my friends are dead. We had a great run. I love all you. It's why you live in my dreams. Nighty night. See you soon even in my dreams.
