1. Describe the similarities and differences between electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and (repetitive) transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS, or simply “TMS”)
2. Discuss efficacy and safety data for TMS, an FDA-approved central neuromodulatory treatment for medication-resistant major depression; review preliminary data for investigational treatments
3. Contrast the relative merits and disadvantages of TMS versus alternative treatments for pharmacoresistant depression
