If it’s a thornes hive it will be too quality. 😊👍🏻 No need to be nervous you’ll be fine 😊👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks, this gave me sufficient confidence to do the same tomorrow....looks easy enough. I've had some bees in a nuc caught from a swarm in the garden where I work. I'm about to start on a bee keeping journey! Have subscribed to your channel

Do you rear your own queens? if not where do you get them from? I would be interested to see a video on swarm prevention both pre swarm cells and post swarm cells.

Most of the queen i rear myself just through making splits. But I do buy queens in occasionally to get better blood lines. I use Ricki Wilson normally. He's a very good breeder that lives on the Carmarthenshire/Ceredigion border. Il get the video done!!

Why did you putting the queen excluder on top but you left the entrance wide open?
@gwenyngruffydd
2 жыл бұрын
To stop the queen going into the honey supers. I run pretty much everything on single brood.

Did you leave the nuc for 24 hours before you transfer to the hive?
@gwenyngruffydd
2 жыл бұрын
Yes the nuc was there for over 24hrs first. But if moving the bees to a new site I’d happily transfer them straight away.

If something were to happen the queen in the process, what would the outcome for the colony be?
@gwenyngruffydd

Depends on the time of year they will probably make another queen

@@gwenyngruffydd I think so. Most of the stray bees seemed to find their way back in after a couple of hours. Your video helped a lot.

That’s one thing I do now every time I transfer a nuc into a hive is feed them syrup. Well spotted! 😊👍🏻
