Right now I'm a few hours in to furring a piece that's about 30cm (12 inches) long and watching some of your videos to stay entertained. One tip you forgot to mention that I personally would also recommend to new needlefelters is to keep it small to make sure your sanity stays intact...

Wow, that's a large project I'm impressed! Yes I should have mentioned that keeping it small will be less mind numbing 😁 as you know adding fur can be very time consuming, thanks for the comment, keep going I'm sure your piece will turn out great.

ah, this is super helpful. i was doing my fur completely wrong, haha. oh, and a idea for the whiskers, you could make a sort of dip in the back of the cats head, and then take the thread through the cat, making the whisker, but not take it all the way through the head, like still leave a tail at the back of the head. and then glue the end of that tail into the head, like you did with the grey cats whiskers but reversed. so you would do that with all the whiskers, and since the glued ends are in a dip, all you have to do is fill the dip with felting. this is similar to how i hid a string in on of my creations, but instead of glue, i needle felted the thread int the back of the head, and then covered it. might be a bit tricky with that plastic thread, because all the glue, and tread would probably leave a hard spot, so it might be difficult to felt over. definitely gonna watch how you shaped the cat now. i made one a month ago, and the shape just wasn't great.

Wow thanks for this, that's a really good idea, I really like the idea of hiding a dip at the back of the head, that would be one way of hiding the glued ends with more wool or fur, brilliant. I did think afterward that I should have put the whiskers on before adding the fur to the face as the fur would probably have hidden any glue marks, but having the anchor point at the back of the neck would make sure it was out of view. Many thanks for this idea. Glad you found this video helpful and I hope you find the shaping of the cat helpful 😊
