Depends on the size of the room too. My living room & kitchen are one huge room & I did gray paint & white quartz counters with a splash of dark gray & gray tile backsplash. Everybody seems to like the colors in those spaces.
@Maggie22002

Yes, for my kitchen, it was Sherwin Williams Soft Sage walls with Canyon Echo top cabinets and Roma Haze for the bottom cabinets. The living room is done in Sherwin Williams Cracked Ice, which is a neutral light gray. Both with white semi gloss trim. Much better than how we found the place back in 2019. Kitchen was Bubble Gum Pink walls, SpongeBob yellow top cabinets & a dark Industrial gray for the bottom cabinets. I wanted to cry because it’s open concept into the dining room area. So we had a lot of painting to do. 3 coats of Kilz to cancel out the Pink on those walls. Looks much calmer now.

It would be helpful if you were able to tell us the results of the sale, and at what percentage of the asking price it was sold. After all, that's how you compare the similar homes on the show which have successfully sold. We want to know what happened and how long it took to sell this house. You're leaving out the most important part of the show's purpose. "No, it didn't sell and our work was ineffective". Seems odd we don't get a resolution. Writers and producers need to do a bit of retooling.

That's what I always wonder about on all these videos. After spending all that money and totally wrecking everything the people originally put into making it feel like home, did the house sell? Did they take a loss on it? Are they stuck there in a bland cookie cutter house? Or did it all pay off, it sold and they made a profit? I only watch this show for the creative 'before' videos. I'm guessing I could figure out how to turn an entire house various shades of white without much help.

definitely, modern homes been selling the best in white or neutral soft color schemes for over a decade and it looks like it's not changing anytime soon. This home looks more modern, sleek and uncluttered but the color scheme is still too dark, would have gone for lighter colors. They probably couldn't do much about the dark furniture (something that ALWAYS makes homes look chunky and dark, no idea why people still buy black sofas etc)

It is just wrong to expect buyers to use their imagination - that is just stupid. Many people have no imagination, and if one expects people to have imagination, then those buyers will be lost. Picking paint colors can be very difficult, which is why people hire designers to do this for them. Obviously, the sellers here also have no imagination, except to fantasize that buyers will have the imagination that the sellers do not have. I can see why the owners covered the bedroom window with a view of an ugly brick wall. That window should have frosted glass IMO.
