As part of the Water Connections Phase 3 project, we have been engaged in deep drilling in Laindatang. We have successfully reached a depth of 76 meters, with six effective days of drilling. However, we had to interrupt drilling for several days due to water shortages, which has been a challenge. Currently, we require almost 15,000 liters of water daily to continue drilling.
Fortunately, we have found a solution and started pumping water from a small artificial pond created just 250 meters away two days ago. With this, we can now drill steadily at a rate of 3 to 4 meters per day. This effort is critical to improving the quality of life for around a hundred families and countless children in the village by reducing infectious diseases.
Working conditions have been extremely challenging, with long hours and heavy rain. Nevertheless, our determination remains strong. We are on-site every day except Sunday, working nearly 12 hours each day. The drilling machine roars and vibrates, but it's all part of the process. Our goal is to reach a depth of 100 meters within a week and conduct tests to determine the water quantity at the bottom of the well. We appreciate your support in this endeavor.
