this decision was not well thought out, customers who depend upon these services, yet no one seems to care for those who many can loose jobs relying on system transit to show up and return home from work hours .. loose jobs loose money for food and shelter loose money for taxes.... essential services means just that transit , ambulance, police, and fire, personal city workers, etc... shame on these power position abusers..!

In Japan, the bus drivers went on strike by providing the service but refusing to collect the fare. This is what we should learn!

Cause he hasn't done sht as a CEO since he took over and told operators to not enforce fares. But decides to give himself a crazy salary increase.

Mr. Leary isn’t the only executive who has refused to take responsibility for having failed to make concrete efforts to improve labour relations although the governments of Doug Ford and Justin Trudeau are also responsible for their behaviours to properly fund transition to process process or even to provide sufficient tools that would allow cities to better fund their transit systems.

Don't worry. Chow will raise the property taxes 10% in order to pay for the TTC employees salaries, pension, and backlogged maintenance. Home and business owners have no choice.

Teachers, nurses, grocery workers, police, ems, laborers, and minimum wage workers all receive a raise, yet u think TTC workers are to blame for a property tax increase. I bet you took the short bus to school.

I will lose my dam job if I can’t get to work. Many will be in the same position. We are average folks trying to survive unlike you greedy TTC employees demanding more and more for doing less.

A transit strike is no fun, I lived through the 51 day strike back in Ottawa years ago. The TTC needs to step up the offer. I recognize the drivers rights to strike, but same time have sympathy for people, that are worried about getting to and from work/school.

This is not fair, how can these workers do this to the people who travel by bus. We are taking transit pass monthly which cost nearly 200 cad. Ttc workers we understand you guys but don't be this rude to us god wont forgive you. If one day wage is gone most of the people like me will suffer for our daily bread. Nobody is there to understand the travelers who don't even know how to drive and no money for uber.

Is that an option? Work from home? Excuse me most people are physical workers, who cannot work from home, too poor to afford a car and working hand to mouth. Thats why we workers depend on public transport. Most workers doesnt even have work benefits..so any other options for poor workers like us? No transportation is as essential as healthcare period!

Why are people blaming the TTC for possibly going on strike? If the TTC goes on strike, then they go on strike it’s not their fault if people loose their jobs. The TTC has every right to go on strike
