You could just have the hole that holds the tower place on the side. That way when you lay all the plants in your can just fold it over and pull it through the side.

Can I re position the plugs after transplanting ? Since the roots have already grown into the media, would up-rooting damage the plant significantly? Thanks

what should be the fish and water ratio while using grow tower?i mean as far as i know while using grow bed we should estimate 1 pound fish for 1 sq ft but how can we calculate that thing for grow towers?

Hi Hadmski21, so where are you 1-year Operations already?. I am very excited that this will be my next decade of career. I am passionate for farming and I think I found the perfect system to start with. How do I start? Should I have face to face training?
@Adamski_eth

KATHERINE RAMOS Hi... I actually went and worked on an aquaponics farm here in Trinidad for 4 mths to get a hands on experience and witnessed ALL aspects from seeding, germination, placing plants in system, harvesting, packaging, sales and understanding different types of systems. This experience coupled with a few years of research I started a small system on a friend's land and so far I'm growing lettuce, basil and kale but trying other items. So with that said, for me a good start is to use an IBC as a fishtank, have a settling tank and a bio filter and run that out to PVC to start and understand nitrification, deficiencies and pests before going bigger.

So it looks like you are planting 12 plants per 7' tower. Could you grow with a higher density than that?
@ZipGrowInc
8 жыл бұрын
Hey +MCash117 - You definitely can. It all depends on what crops you're wanting to grow and how mature you want your crops to be when you harvest. You can always increase the number of "plant sites" (a poor metric overall for measuring the productivity of a farm because you sell by plant weight, not by plant site), but it just requires you to reduce your lettuce head size/weight, for example. At the end of the day, it all depends on what your customers want! Hope that makes sense.

Hi Joe, aquaponics systems can be very productive, but they will actually take up more space because of the fish tank and filtration systems. We love aquaponics though and have over 50 videos on that topic alone. Please do check out the rest of our channel for more helpful AP videos!

Wondering if anyone has tried to use a small 12v winch with a foot pedal to get the efficiency of a two person team while being single handed. I'm thinking that if you can get away from the pulling motion that it might be worth it even if it's not much faster.

You can grow a lot in the ZipFarm, but most commercial growers stick with leafy greens and herbs because of consistent demand and/or high profits. Check out some other things that people are growing here: blog.brightagrotech.com/25-crops-you-can-grow-in-zipgrow-towers

Nice but i think its a wast of time.. I mean too many steps.. The way i doing them is in my opinion faster. When i lay on my wicked strip i also put the plugs at the same time as its still on the side. Fold it, and insert it into the tower( tower that i set on the side instead of side up). So plugs stays in place. And because they stay in the side, leaf won't be a problem too. I do a full tower right away.(2 media at the same time). But, thats my way. 👍
