The biggest concern here is making sure the load, the steel structure, does in no way hit the boom section on that crane, or would be a huge catastrophe.

Are they going to try and reuse this piece, if so they will need to do a lot of inspection as well as magnaflux a good portion of that piece.

So is this crane a stiff leg or does it rotate on the barge, the gantry cables look like they are attached to the barge but don't see any counterweight anywhere.

Wherever it has to. Interesting story about the rigs inception. Built for the CIA to retrieve a sunken Russian Sub, way back when. I just read the article. Give it a search. pretty cool

This bridge should already be gone. The channel should be open quit dragging it out. Army Corps of Engineers is a joke back in World War II. They raised the battleship in six weeks. You can’t even move a bridge you ever considered when they blast the bridge. They do the same thing and it don’t take them, but about two days to move the bitch out of the waterway big freaking.

When they blast a bridge they break into pieces that can be fairly easily picked up. This bridge is all twisted and parts are under a lot of strain. There is also a boat in the way and bodies to recover so they can’t just blow it to pieces.

Back in WW2 there weren't as many safety rules as there are now, it was a war zone, actually weren't any rules just get it done, needed it done yesterday.
