Great videos, been watching daily and looking out for new ones. Learn something new every time. Havn't trapped for a few years now, slowly getting things ready for next season if all goes well. Not a big time trapper, usually head out when I have time and the fur I get I usually keep for myself, give them away and what not. Been wondering, what are those big drags that you use on some of your wolf traps? Stay safe, keep the vids coming:) Great content.

Placing a trap in a bag is the ONLY way to go up in the cold and snow ....I've been using the white plastic disposable bags you usta get your groceries in and produce bags I get from Safeway for years ...I saw in your last video you said you are using biodegradable bags, my concern would be(because they break down) that they absorb moisture ?? ... I use drags very similar to the one you use in that first set ..... the wolves never get far in them .... good stuff
@whatido3021
Жыл бұрын
Fist time using the bags but I lift my traps when the weather gets mild so I am not too worried about moisture, more less to keep them from freezing solid or the pan not moving, good point though, I've always used screens or wax paper in the past and figured I'd give it a try, thanks Dean!

Great checks . Surprised you don't set some snares around your foot hold area too ?
@whatido3021
Жыл бұрын
I do have snares all over but can't set on the west side since that is the border of my line and that's where the wolves are coming from, caught one wolf in the snares then they avoided the tree line on my side so I went to leg holds, thanks for watching Tim!

Are you getting a new expidition sport 600 ace this coming winter ?
@whatido3021
Жыл бұрын
I had bought on for my wife so I'll be using that one this season, it has the 600 ace engine, and only since I can't get a new skandic until march apparently, definitely going back to the skandic, not that this expedition sport isn't good, but once I got used to the low range on the skandic, it's the way to go for my style of trapping.
