@boobyguyfilms hey I have an idea for the spring net trap! If you take double sided tape and put it on the pan of the trap you can put feed on the tape and tape it to the pan they step on or touch and even if the wind blows you will still have feed on the pan so it will keep the feed from blowing away! Just thought it might work so good luck keep up the great work

Place a bowl of water near the trap. You can also place a trap at the corner and a bowl of water. Give the birds some time to get used to seeing the traps. Good luck. 🤞🏽

Yes I am 17 and I just bought my first pair of breathable waders and new drake half zip coat. Along with a new truck and I worked for it all. And I am also gonna be competing in the Rogers waterfowl duck weekend novice division calling contest with my sponsor call for the first time and this waterfowl season me and my buddies will be posting videos and we also got our first duck boat. It was a lot of hard work also to get all of my decoys and layout blinds and mojos and just everything I have for hunting. I thank Bobby for a lot of tips I have used during duck and goose hunting.

also one of the best places to catch a bunch of pigeons is locate a barn that they are roosting in at night. Take a buddy or two with flashlights and nets and blind them. Sometimes you can damn your take every pigeon roosting in their because the ones that get out will come back quickly in the dark! This is what I really liked doing was spotlighting pigeons. It's almost as fun as spotlighting walleyes. I don't know if you've ever done that but it's a blast and you can literally see thousands of them in one or 2 feet of water in the spring right out ice out and for the next month or two even. Actually in the summertime depending on the weather you can spotlight them all summer long at night if your water is clear down to 4 or 5 feet because most of the time they come into shore at night to feed even in the middle of summer. Kind of like winter I've caught them right at dusk and before daylight literally in 6 inches of water ice fishing!!! They are chasing minnows and small fish up to the shore to trap them! Anyway just thought I would throw that in. Just another thing to do for fun and maybe to film sometime if you get the chance. I sure wish KZitem was around when I was young like you. Even up to 10 years ago I was guiding every day for dear, ducks and geese, and peasants, grouse and Partridge. Almost 5 months out of the year and my God is it great money. At that time I had no idea you could make anything off of KZitem. I put several of my videos on KZitem just for advertising purposes but I didn't really make a channel or anything. I really should've taken a closer look at things! lol!

Contact the State DNR and inquire about the propulsion net system they use , build one the size that is manageable for you , and rope it up the outside of the building to the rooftop . You could utilize model rocket engines to catapult a small net , say 30x30 feet . The net has to be long enough that it can be launched higher than the pigeons can fly upward at reaction to rocket ignition . These model rocket engines have electrical ignition and can be set off in tandem and by remote switch , say from the top of a neighboring roof where you can see the optimum moment to set trap off . In the right place at dusk , you could catch multitudes in a single discharge . The State Agency may be able to turn you on to some very helpful information ...!

Maybe sticking clear or reg duct tape to the underside of the trap would help hold a feed trail into the trap in place. I was thinking it may be easier for ya to use a rope to haul the bucket and gear up after you climb that steep staircase. Also try suet as bait the birds go insane for it by my house, they fight over it. It's just fat ground up to a paste mixed with seed as far as I know. Love the peigon videos, I'm eyeballing reds and checks in my neighborhood now. Keep up the good stuff Bob, I dig it! 👊

@Paul-cq2we
5 жыл бұрын
for some reason decoys tend not to work when trapping pigeons and I don't know why. Put your traps around the air-conditioning units because the birds go up in there and nest! Those mama and daddy birds are also the ones that decoy in other pigeons. Like I said I have no idea why decoys never worked for me. Also you are not only going to catch other pigeons but you also catch the mated pairs and when the babies leave the nest you will catch them also. When they leave they can already go into your loft. Don't get discouraged because you're going to have great success on top of the buildings during the winter with corn. You must use whole kernel corn and not cracked corn because cracked corn will kill your pigeons! Cracked corn tears their crops open and it will kill the babies they feed everyone single time. It normally will kill the adult pigeons as well so just use whole kernel corn in the winter. You should also use a little corn in your trap even though they don't necessarily want to eat it right now. The reason being they can see it very easy from very high and far away! This also will help bring them in! Anyway I guarantee you're going to catch 15 times the amount of birds at a minimum in the wintertime you catch in the summertime. They are just like every other bird and animal. They need corn to create body heat so basically just use straight whole kernel corn in the winter. I also used to use flashlights on the top of the buildings and blind them because they're easy to pick up than. There one problem however, I damn near fell off the side of the roof more than once and the last time I was damn lucky my friend was there because if he wasn't I was going to fall three stories and that's not really worth a pigeon. It scared the hell out of me that time! Damn near peed my pants! I wouldn't put food anywhere but the trap, not around it at all but put plenty of food in the trap so they can see it easily. Also if it's hot out you need to put water in the cage or they will die in four or five hours in the sun. Good luck, I hope you tear them up! Also I would love to see the new loft your friend has in his barn when you can get around to it. I hope this helps!

Good luck with pigeons and your doggy and if you ever need any questions answered about training your dog I think I can probably help you!
