Great work SArah. Uber is odd in Medellin so I wanted to explain to potential or future travelers how it may work. Drivers will drop you off at the airport but will demand cash a few minutes prior to drop off. There are rules prohibiting Uber drivers collecting fees at or near the airport to some licensing that only certain taxis possess.

I took the Uber leaving the airport. No one asked me for additional fees in cash. I have my card connected to Uber so everything is always done in app. This is of course just my experience, but I still recommend Uber as I got around the city with it.

Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for posting about Medellín! I have a question, do you travel with lots of luggage when you're moving around for your stays? I'm going for two months and I think a carry on will be enough but idk lol

I do typically have more than a carry on, but if you want to have a carry on only it is up to you. Climates can be different from Cartagena to Medellin and Bogota so I would double check the weather where you are going to make sure you have the right clothes!

How many days did you stay in Medellin? Loved this video so helpful for planning

Glad you enjoyed. I stayed about 10 days and used it as a base to come back to after going to Jardin and one other place. I think 2 or 3 nights is enough if you just want to see the city , but I loved experiencing it longer to live as a digital nomad.

Can you explain how you ordered the Uber if the laws are weird for it in Colombia?

I was able to still call it from my phone and some one picked me up. They just said to head to the front door so at the airport it didn’t look like they were Uber
