Well hope your bike gets fixed should always check your oil especially on big trips the sump bolt can vibrate loose on occasion . I think they meant to lend you a bike for essentials not to drive all over the place. Might pay to buy them a nice gift I know they don't like to take money so buy them a nice box of groceries or take them for a feed. They may have friends who speak English watch this and think your ungrateful.
I'm always in awe when it comes to nature's wonders, especially massive trees! Only a century ago, huge trees like that were still a bit more common. Logging and deforestation wiped out many incredible trees like that in jungles all over Thailand. As a kid, when my parents were looking to buy some land in the countryside, I saw many farmer homes still built with large long pieces of teak wood. Since the large teak wood was already becoming scarce, people would offer to buy the farmer's homes just for the wood. Most of the time, the money offered was enough to build an even bigger or more modern style home. Seeing beautiful wood temples or traditional Thai style homes like that is something unique these days.

You said that the front brake is not working on the replacement bike. The front brake has most of the stopping power .I suggest you get it fixed ,FOR YOUR Safety .It would also be a nice gesture to the lad who lent it to you but would not take money .Its probably something simple that they can fix in 30 minutes .

The majestic tree is "Ton Phueng", meaning "Bee tree" in Thai, a tree in banyan family. Royal bees here love to build their massive (1.5 - 2 meters wide in nature) hive on one of the exceptionally straight and smooth branches usually found on this tree and that's where it got its name. The Bee tree you saw should be about 4-5 centuries old. What are like long and very tall stems of other trees around the area is but its elevated roots vegetated from under its branches like common banyan trees have.

When I leave my country to travel round different place around our world, one thing I love is looking at their trees. Beautiful. In Ireland, we got amazing Oak's. Here EVERYONE love tree's and take it personally to look after them.

I’m sure the guy forgot to mention that the bike belongs to his mother. LOL Maybe, and not only to get the guy out of trouble, but also to put the expats in a good light, maybe you could return the bike with a bouquet of flowers for the mom. Another reason for the flowers: I’m sure I’m the next guy who breaks down with his bike and could use a loaner. LOL

@@exploretheworld4824 Of course the lady wanted her bike back. Plus, I assume if this family were rich enough they would probably own a better bike. But of course the mom wanted her bike back at one point. I can’t believe that the guy actually gave you the bike in the first place, fully aware of the fact of who and for what this bike was used for. Amazing people !

the kind soul likely loans his bike, so he can move around easily & buy food. since the Yamaha bike is quite in a bad state, it isn't wise to take on a "next level" journey. just because you can, doesn't mean you should. literally, give someone an inch and they'll take a mile. he should have known better. common courtesy.
