They both pointed out the Bhav Baji (a loaf bread with curry) but said "we don't speak Hindi so we don't know how to order"! It dawned on me that most South Indians and North Easterners doesn't speak Hindi language 😂😂 as for me I can understand basic Hindi words from my time watching Bollywood movies 😂but unable to speak out the right sentences and my accent so bad even stray Dogs will laugh at me😂😂 but i tried to slowly converse with the eatery owner, and I swear he got amused , after lunch we hit the market and proceeds to find stuffs, the drama started when the merchants expected the two guys besides me to haggle and ignored me (I look foreign 😂 I am Indian that looks a thoroughbred East Asian and female😂) i started my own way of bargaining meanwhile conversing in English with my two guys about the price they want to pay, one merchant was so frustrated and amused he sighed to his staff "Two desis(Indian) who can't speak Hindi, and one "chini"(Chinese) who can speak Hindi"What world are we living in?"he said that out loud in Hindi and i understood and replied, That's "offensive to call me "Chini", I am pure Indian ,you should go to Pakistan because you look like a Pakistani!😂😂😂

Haggling is actually the norm for the majority of the world. I couldn't do it, and I'm sure if be terrible at it if I tried, but in most places across the globe it's just a totally normal part of the shopping experience. It's kind of crazy to think about.

Pro tip if you are at a market/bazaar in holiday and the vendor ask for your nationality. Don't tell them that you come from a rick western country or Russia. You can tell them that you are Romanian and be able to get 50% off.

Me and my Filipino boyfriend just visited the Phillipines for the first time this month and this is sooo true 😂 They'll try to charge at least double most of the time if I don't get him to deal with the buying of stuff in places without marked prices (for the record, most places 🙄) Sometimes I'd wait somewhere when it's a particularly big haggle for a trip or something even for the average Pinoy and then when they see me they'll notice they've been duped and do a double take 😂 Travelling is something else sometimes...

@@SidMaron Probably ok on a market (every town has one a day on the week, at least up north) and some stores. Tourists stores are ok too, usually those are owned by people from other countries and are eager to bargain, in my experience at least lol I still felt awkward. And usually they round down the prices to a more convenient number (once a lady charged me €15 instead of €18 without me asking for anything and people sometimes ignore the cents because it's a pain in the ass, so they could charge €10 instead of €10,20) Maybe OP could add something else.

In Thailand there is a "foreigner tax" in many official places - national parks for example, you'll get charged mors than 10 times the price, even if you live here (you used to get discount if you show a work permit, but that hasn't been for many years now). Very frustrating going hiking with my Thai friends (who earn a similar wage to me).
