I ended up getting all 3. Used and needing a really good cleaning. Slayer pro is the first one I just got started today. Runs awesome but I know I'm going to like the revo better. Slayer really wants to flip on pavement in the wet. Cant wait to get a nice day and test it in the dirt.

The hole in the Slayer Pro window has no affect on the air filter getting dirty. The air filter is in line with the left front wheel. The wheel is inside the body,causing any dirt kicked up by the front wheel to cover the air filter in dirt. The Revo with the same body doesn't have thiat problem because the wheels are outside of the body unless turning.

I can see the tmaxx suspension being cool on a 1/10 sct. It would be more oil and better geometry.

Can confirm: The Slayer series (Slayer Pro, Mini Slash) does not do well at all in grass or dirt. Many of the same problems even with the miniature electric. So much rocks and dirt in the chassis; not just bad for nitro trucks with air filters. The electric mini has plastic drive shafts that get eaten for breakfast because of how open it is. And it traction rolls more often than Star Fox. Thanks for the vid! Which is more durable would you say: Revo or T-Maxx? I had posters of both as a kid, and will plan on getting one soon...

Get both and possibly a 3rd nitro. You will have issues with one always and you need a back up or two

If you get the Revo 3.3 you can just get arms, shafts, tires, and a body to go between MT and SCT. You would have reverse and telemetry the Slayer does not have.

thanks, the video I been looking for. I think I'll get a revo 3.3. they should be the same speed as a t Maxx right? and the revo 3.3 has a 2 speed transmission?
@telecomandorc
2 жыл бұрын
They both do. It depends on gearing, but the Revo 3.3 is a bit faster due to weight. I cannot remember the difference. I thing the T-Maxx is cooler. But I have found much more support for my Revo than T-Maxx. Not saying my T-Maxx 3.3 is out dated but it is more of a legacy RC. The Revo 3.3 is more "modern" in a sense.

I would go for the Revo out of these. I think coming with the hump pack out the box is a great feature. The reverse is also fun. I like reverse for tight areas where I bash.
@telecomandorc

I feel the same way. Sometimes it is simply useful to have reverse. Out of the box the shocks need heavier oil and springs. It is handles well and jumps nicely. I do like my T-Maxx except for the dampers it comes with.

Great video! Thank you for the info. My biggest thing I'm looking for is a monster truck that can do wheelies, jumps and back flips. I have a Losi 8IGHT Truggy that I'm loving so far and it controls very well, so I want to add a nitro monster truck that can do stunts to the mix. With that criteria, would you recommend Revo or T Maxx? Thank you!
@telecomandorc
3 жыл бұрын
I love them both. The Revo is easier to control in the air in terms of keeping it flat. The T-Maxx does more wheelies and likes flipping (F/B) a lot more. So for flips... I would probably say T-Maxx. Although, I so not like the stock shocks. Keep bog non-belted tires on it. The Revo is more of a "race" monster truck. The T-maxx is more of the wheelie beast. Just be careful not to land on the top.
@Jonathan9727

@@telecomandorc Thanks so much for the response! My buddy has decided to get the T Maxx, so to diversify our joint collection, I ended up ordering the Revo. Based on some info I got from other folks I asked, I'm thinking of upgrading the carb with a Losi 3.4 and the exhaust pipe with a THS. From what I heard, that should give the revo a lot more torque for wheelies and flips, while maintaining its other advantages over the tmaxx. Does that sound reasonable to you? Do you think that will do what I want?
@telecomandorc
3 жыл бұрын
@@Jonathan9727 I left mine stock. I am actually running 30% VP nitro fuel. You just need to richen the mixture a bit to keep temps down. Maybe half a turn left on the idle and 3/4 ish left on the high end. Oh... Revo is awesome, but change the springs and shock oil. kzitem.info/news/bejne/1KSD06Nur3h2mHo By the way, the nice thing about the Revo is the dual servo. Not because of the dual setup, but because it has more steering. The T-Maxx has one. Your friend will notice it can only turn the wheels well when it is in motion and not while not moving.

The air filter getting dirty and everything getting dirty on the slayer is not from the hole in the body. It’s because the tires are under the body.
@telecomandorc

Makes sense since the front tires kick up a lot of dirt under the body compared to the Revo which does not since the tires are not under the body.
