Awesome thanks for cranking it, everyone shouild do it when demoing this amp. When you cranked it was the treble boost on? And was the treble all the way up?

Have you still got yours? Love my '73 which I picked up for £350 here in the UK where they are largely overlooked for a hand-wired amp.

I am very pleased with mine - a 1973 model that looks identical to the one in the video. Replaced the Marsland speaker with a Celestian (a Vintage 30?) which made a huge improvement. I also implemented the mods to the tone stack to calm down the brightness (use the search engine and you'll find a series of mods for these amps). My local amp tech added a variable bias pot for when it needs new power tubes and I also got him to slow down the overall tremolo speed range which is very fast. The tremolo now behaves more like a Fender Deluxe or Vibrolux. The only thing that could be better is the reverb which only has a small sized tank so isn't as lush as a Fender. These amps have a sound of their own but I guess I would describe them as a cross between a Fender Deluxe Reverb and a Vox... for a quarter of the price of either!

Interesting! I have two of these, both were DOA when I got them. Fortunately my tech did the mods you mentioned. I'll have to try the speaker swap next, but yes... they are a real sleeper amp for sure!

@@mattl1811 Hi 3 years since I posted that - mine is out of action again and is sitting in storage. Playing a Marshall 18watt now.

@@marcmistermarc heresy! LoL Well, since it's a Marshall, I'll allow it. :) My main love is a Marshall TSL60

You need another mic for your voice audio dude! Good demo of the Fender Deluxe killer else! :) Traynor YGM-3 Guitar Mate (change the speaker out)... one of the best guitar amps ever made @ 15 - 20watts.

Would you say the Traynor is Blackface Fender in sound?

Same as Doc, I'd like to know if this is stock speaker or not. My YGM-3 never sounded like this unfortunately, there was an odd honk in the sound that I never got past.

Sorry I missed these - speaker is an EV Force 12, similar to an EV 12L.

Can anyone recommend a footswitch that would work for the tremolo?
@jamesdoctor8079

i think any standard fender style footswitch works fine! i have one that works with my ygm3 that came from a princeton reverb. i also have one that came from a fender eighty five and they both work fine

Nice demo! Just FYI the tone controls are not Bandaxall. They are standard Fender/Marshall/Vox style albeit with Traynor's circuit values. Also contrary to much misinformation a Bandaxall tone control is passive. Of the course the important thing is the amp sounds good.
