To see Mike dance out of the pedals inspired me into a show off. I'm seated most of the time and even on climbs but for a camera, I'll just slap a few gears harder to dance for it. 🤫

I was there on a nice summer weekend many years ago. The toll is actually a parking ticket for the Refugio Auronzo on the top. They close the road for cars if the parking in full. For each car coming down, they let on car go up. I passed several km of cars waiting that day. The actual climb was pretty calm with almost no traffic. I heard this is still that way but only on a few days in summer for a couple of hours.

When you want to have a real adventure, you have to do the full stoneman road where this col is one part of it (I had to do some research, because I just know it by the name Auronozo hut, but it looked some kind of known for me). All in all you do on this round

Sorry but this is not the case, at least not in the north and especially not in the mountains. I'm doing cycling trips in the Alps since more than 30 years and Italian drivers are taking care. Italians like cycling and respect riders. It is kind of the same in France and even better in Switzerland. I prefer those countries over Austria and Germany, where I live.
