Nice gesture of you to save the bike and want to give it away to some random kid. That will surely will put a smile of his face. Let us know how that goes or make a special video of that. Might go viral.

I have a small truck. But use a trailer sometimes. I get ideas from how you load your truck. Tough sometimes. Scrap on man.

Should have kept the all the bikes and fixed and sold them for probably more than what you got for scrap. Also the higher end baby carriage and trailer should have kept and sold them separately

I've repaired and refurbished quite a few bikes in the last decade or so. Some were a quick brake/shift cable change but most were more work than it's worth. I say to try sell bikes as is/needs work or part them out on eBay is they are vintage good parts/components. The bikes like Huffy, Kent, Next , hyper, Roadmaster they all belong in the scrap pile.

My issue is this, Brake cables and shift cables are $5 at the bike store and that's just for a basic one. Brake cable housing and shift cable housing is $4-5 per 12 inches at bike shop. Brake pads are about $10-15 and a new chain will set one back $25 or so. It's best to buy in bulk online if one is somewhat serious about fixing up old bikes as the bike store prices will nickel and dime you and cut into your profits.
