In this video we head out to the Isles of Scilly and meet up with fellow diver and wreck hunter Todd Stevens who shows us a site he has been looking at over the last couple of years which seems very likely that he has identified as being that of the Pheonix, which struck the rocks here in 1680.
The 450 ton East India Company ship Pheonix and its Captain William Wildly were returning from the West Indies with a cargo of pepper and cloth when it was lost toward the Western Rocks off the Isles of Scilly on the 11th January 1680.
Over the last couple of seasons Todd has been closely studying this site, and made several great surface finds which we will show you in the video.
All finds that have been recovered in this video have been declared and are held under indemnity of the Reciever of Wreck.
The site has been reported to the correct authoraties and has even been looked at by a team sent out by Historic England.
All the valuable items shown in this video have now been put into secure storage.
Thanks for watching, feel free to give this a share, and catch you soon for more videos.
