Looking forward to seeing it all spring into life. Love the Griffins and pan bust. I have a bit of a love for tasteful gothic-esque garden decor .👍🏻

Thank you. Yes i agree. They're kind of eerie and spooky. Especially up lit.

Well done Mark. I amvery impressed that you have be able to over winter so much. Being that I am in southern England I put a few plants in my garage, thinking that would be OK. I lost everything 😢 😮.

Hello Pauline thank you. And I'm very sorry to hear about your plants. If it's any consolation the plants i put in my garage haven't done as well either. Mark

Great update. Have been watching your tree fern videos since purchasing mine in January. I planted after the cold spell in early February after the ground thawed. So I could be potentially waiting for two years till fronds appear😂. I haven't dare see if I have Crozier's in the crown. Have ihad it covered with an old coat over winter. It's a five footer.

Thanks Shuva. You may not have to wait 2 years. You may see something this year. I hope so. Best wishes. Mark

@@MarksHouseandGardenUK During those two years was there any sign of the knuckles?

No sign. But remember, this was only ONE of my tree ferns. The others produced fronds immediately.

Please don't give up hope. It might be just the exposed visible part which has been caught. It's still early and quite cool in parts. Can't wait for some warm weather!

Be aware of any grey squirrels. They will eat all new growth on your tree ferns! I have lost all of my new growth! The same happened last year.

Why on earth do you remove the dead tree fern fronds?
@MarksHouseandGardenUK

Watch the video tree fern carnage which i published earlier this year. I explained in that. But quute simply they were black and ugly and didn't like them. So i cut them off.

@@MarksHouseandGardenUK they can retain heat around the the plant in the winter, (like fleece), and they funnel rainfall into the crown when it rains...

@@tedscott1478 whilst that may be true did you watch the video? Mine were wrapped in fleece, insulation, coffee sacks and had oak leaves gently placed on top. The dead black fronds were entirely redundant. The good news is that all are now growing well.

@@MarksHouseandGardenUK I don't have experience in growing tree ferns, but as far as I understand the weight of the wilting, drying fronds slowly hanging down lower and lower pulls the base of their stems outwards and helps open up the tops of the trunks.. Are you not concerned by the diminishing tops on your ferns? They all seem very tight up there, narrow gaps for the new fronds to develop
