@@barrakingbeatz7794 each to their own. My last ktm 500 with all the add ons for racing set me back well over 20k. Now I gave up riding as there’s nowhere close to Sydney to do it that’s any decent. The injuries that come with it and my 10 year old is loving mountain biking as we can do it more locally and good for fitness and less chances of injuries and better for my overall fitness spending 11k on a bike isn’t a big deal for me. Lost almost that on the resale on my 500 after a couple years of having it anyway. Use my push bike at least 10 times the amount I used my moto and seems like a better investment to me for that reason alone. Could have got a bike less than half that price and still had fun I’m sure. I’m 34 haven’t ridden since I was in my early 20s when i was only on bmx bikes and racing motocross and enduro tans still wrapping my head around the modern bike scene though difference between mine and my mates 6k canyon spectral is night and day to me. Would have liked to buy something else like a pivot or Santa Cruz though seems like everything is hard to get in Australia compared to the rest of the world and at least I have a trek dealer nearby where any warranty issues I can just take it straight to them. Know it is probably a bit of a wank though my brother just spent 9k on a fishing rod and reel which to me is bonkers or my other brother who spent 1500 on one golf club 😂

The reviews I've seen so far have all said the fork and shock are a good combination. Given that only the 9.9 has the Zeb, I'd be interested to know whether the shock is going to overwhelm the fork in the lesser builds.
@FlowMountainBikeYouTube
4 жыл бұрын
Yo Karel! The Slash 9.8 XT comes with a ZEB too, though that's in Australia - models and specs might differ in other parts of the world. The cheaper Slash 8 and Slash 7 that come into Oz are spec'd with a Lyrik and a Yari respectively. Personally, I don't see those forks being overwhelmed by the rear suspension - those forks are still fantastic performers with a good solid chassis. The ZEB just takes it up a notch - it's more direct with greater torsional stiffness, and the action of the fork is seriously smooth. It's a great match for the back end of the Slash. Also worth noting is that the cheapest Slash 7 doesn't get the same Thru-Shaft shock as the other models. It has a more basic RockShox Deluxe shock to match the Yari. [Wil]

Shhhhhhh 160 170 isn't overkill at all I promise. 😂😂 I've got a trek roscoe 8 120mm and a guerilla gravity 160 170. I'd rather be able to take it anywhere my xc bike can't go even if I'm a little over biked. I think that's more fun than being under biked though so it's definitely personal preference.

Antanis Yeah, where I live it’s mostly greens, blues and blues labelled as blacks, with a few genuine single and double blacks in the big hills - but I usually use the DH bike for those ones. Otherwise a remedy with 150/160 Lyrik will still cop those trails - few mates have the 18/19/20 models. But can’t replace the really playful and agile feel of 27.5 elsewhere.
@antanis

@@JFTM_ that's fair. Definitely depends on your local trails and propensity for climbing. A remedy is definitely a good option for long legged trail bike.
