These bow cakes have been flooding my feed on Insta 🎀
They're absolutely cute and elegant at the same time 😍
-For this project I used a 6" dummy with a height of 9"
-To make the bow and its 'drapes' I used fondant mixed with Tylose.
-I taped 2 straws to each other to make them longer. You can even use long dowels if you have them at hand.
-Once you remove the straws gather the fondant and slowly position and rest on to your cake. Please add water on the area to where the drape will be sitting on. I was only making this for tutorial purposes so I didn't add any. Try not to adjust the drape too many times. I did and it had tears 😞
-The top bow part is the easiest. Join both the pieces and stick the bow on top with water. If your cake is travelling add concealed skewers or dowels to the bow probably inside the loop area.
This is a pretty easy and simple decoration for a cake. And yes its quite trendy too 🎀
