🏴🏴🏴I'm so proud to be welsh. Our heritage and culture is full of myth, magic and enchantment. We are the land of poetry and song. We are a strong surviving nation and even back through history we have never backed down or given in, we are full of strength, pride and determination. Our welsh language is something to be proud of and hearing you sing with such intensity and passion has given me goosebumps all over. Cymru am byth!!! 🗝🏴👑

For me , The Welsh are not to be touched . They stand fortified together as in the old days. Book in hand whether it be leaves or water. Heart towards what I call heaven or hell. Fires of cloak and Shield. Non presentable passions. Only behind closed doors. Like no other. I am European Black. Welsh , Irish, Scot and many others. I observe and yet I am right there with you in Spirit. Men of Valour Enjoy your day!!!

I think the Irish didn’t do much in the way of choirs back in the day, because large and loud gatherings were at best frowned upon and at worst totally banned by the English. Also, many communities were very dispersed- there were relatively few if any “mining towns” which is from where a lot of the Welsh brass bands and choirs sprung. I mean, I’m guessing and mixing up my chronological things something awful, but you get the gist. But there is a rich and ongoing tradition of Irish song and music.

Treorchy have always been World class Male Voice Choir. My Grand Dad could sing but was never confident enough to join one because he didn't think he was good [he could knock out a Myfanwy perfect when he thought nobody was listening] and thought he was singing with too much of an English lilt. These days will be the last of anyone having to even remember feeling difficult over their expression of Welsh. I was born in 1965, not far from Llanrhystud, I'm very familiar with a graffiti that's been near there 'since I was born' as the saying goes. Yma o Hyd is doing it for me, brilliant anthem. I believe it will grow. After Capel Celyn was dried out this year, I wan't to see it as a good omen. There was even a graffiti on a wall in the dryest part of the heatwave in green aerosol paint said ... Yma o Hyd ... and I doubt anyone right minded would not take that as another [Cofiwch Dryweryn] graffiti that might technically be labelled 'vandalism', but is, in fact, of national monument significance in real terms. Anyone with links they can boost in my direction to / for the 'Dry' Capel Celyn, Tryweryn, Llyn Celyn, Dan Y Dwr [Enya] new video / photods / perspective versions THIS year, please DM me or add below. I'll take and old photo's or video of Capel Celyn and Tryweryn anyone has or can link me to.

@@123bwlch I live in the next valley over and In 30 years have never heard Welsh spoken locally. Never. I'd recognise it in a flash as I speak it myself but I'm an extreme oddity in that sense. I speak it to my kids but they speak English to each other. (At least I tried!)
