It's beacause animations in this game aren't 'stiff' and predefined like in almost all video games, they are calculated by physics engine what you can see in 0:07 and mod adds new behaviors to make it look more natural than it was back in 98

An other "ahead of it's time" people I see. No it wasn't ahead of its time. It was the 90's, game developers experimented a lot in the 90's, this was just an other experimental game like many other in the 90's. It was a current game in the 90's not at all ahead of its time.
@Recrofne

@@Zodroo_TintYou're talking out your ass. In terms of tech it was absolutely ahead of its time. It was the first commercial game ever to have a fully functional physics engine, 6 whole years before HL2 which is the game that most people associate with physics-based gameplay. It was by no means perfect, in fact it was jank as fuck and awkward to play, but for 1998 it was still absolutely mindblowing,

@@Zodroo_Tint It was extraordinary for its time Most games were like doom and didn't have a fully 3d environment let alone an entire physics engine and still be a first person shooter with a story to tell (even if it is a bit lackluster) Also probably one of the first games where you could adjust your cursor/aim ingame

Incredibly good animation work. The way the raptor turns its right leg inward at two seconds to get the curve looks incredibly good. And the little stopper when he jumps on the roof of the car. The little imperfections make it so good. Also that little lunge from the T-Rex. Very impressive. Must have watched it 20 times.

I agree with you, I always said that, I always felt that, now I have proof I was right. Graphic is not at all that important. But we have to take into consideration that era of graphic is timeless, I know many people are willing to attack me for that but late 90's graphic has a charm what makes it enjoyable even today and I bet in the future too. I think it is the angular nature of the world what works.

If you do keep it hush hush until it's finished please. Recruit people and build a good team of course. But universal has been really unconstructive sending out cease and desist orders to jurassic park fan games lately. Going forward fan games should build, release to the public so the files get out there and can't be taken down, and then if universal does order a cease and desist it doesn't matter because the games are already released.
