That is the same way I handled the exact same issue. I’d pressure the cows gently back across with a truck and tighten the wire. The old fella passed away and his daughter and son in law inherited the property and moved in. They just replaced the entire fence, and used cattle wire. I bought a 14’ gate with mesh, in case we partner with the cattle down the road.

Thanks for sharing this my friend. It feels frustrating when it happens, but when you get to know the people it becomes more about them than the problem. People come first.

I am a cattle farmer it really doesnt matter how good the fence is if they know there is something over there they really want i am glad you are trying to be a good neighbor as long as he is putting a effort to keep them in but they can be pretty crafty my fence is a five strand very hot electric and they will still find a way through sometimes i know you shouldn't have to but not having feeders xlose to the line would probably help they can smell grain from a ways away and there is nothing a cow likes better good luck

Thanks Charles. Appreciate you watching brother. And your perspective is really helpful. I learned the hard way about 5 years back to have the feed off the fence lines. Mineral too. But, you are right. They may be huge, but they are sneaky! Neighbors are better than gold. And love that he is still living the dream. Hope one day a younger man is as kind to me. God Bless brother. Thanks again

Man, them kind of 'passers can really cause a lot of damage and financial pain for deer and land managers!! We invest a lot of time, energy and cash into our wildlife conservation efforts! Best of luck with this Joe!! Wait.. Now I am thinking that maybe it was a squatch!! Good luck!

It's better to fix a fence than to have to mend fences. 😊

I couldn’t agree with more on how you are handling your neighbors cows and neighbor…. In the south you know that one day you will need some kind of help and your neighbor will be there for you…. That’s what we do in Tennessee. I’m in Carroll county Tn. And on 200 acres and I get unwanted guest every now and then as well. Good to see you posting regularly I enjoy your channel 🔥🔥👍👍

Thanks Gene, you are exactly right. I care more about my neighbors than the cows. And I'm planning on getting more out! I appreciate your support!!!

Problem with fence probers and runaways is no matter the type of animal they are curious and inquisitive, younger cattle need an older leader, my neighbour is nice and slashes all the grass low along boundries and fences it deters them from testing and rubbing up against fence post. Provide a good scratching post especially for yaks

That’s smart for the curious calfs. We have some areas that are so hard to get to it’s impressive to see the cattle traverse the terrain. Thanks for watching and appreciate your input!

Hey Joe. Community is going to become more important as time goes. Keep relations good with the neighbors. This time of year cows aren’t that important. Keep your neighbors friendly
