3,5V with extra amplifier or 1,5V? Regenerative or not? Tnx

Receivers circuit can work from 1,5V to 4V. Darlington circuit can work with 1,5V ( 1,5...4,0V ) power supply and without silicon diode. Receivers input impedance is a negative, and moving coupling coil closer to main LC tank's coil, can control regeneration.

@@ingussilins6330 Interesting circuit and good audio! I suspect there is a certain amount of AGC (Automatic Gain Control) as well since the diode constitutes part of the biasing circuit. Am I right? I built a similar one (but first transistor in common collector mode) for reception of 80M amateur band. Works great (smooth regeneration) with only a ferrite rod antenna. I used BC547C transistors. Circuit and construction article appeared in Practical Wireless magazine March 2016. Happy construction!

@@erikdevriese671 Thanks Erik, I don't thinked about AGC, but in this circuit analysis: Silicon diode and VT4 transistors B-E barrier work as a "zener diode", total about 1V and keep stable voltage to VT3 collector. I think - strong RF signal can cause average voltage drop on VT3 collector, but strong negative feedback loop ( VT1-VT3 transistors, trimmer pot ) can stabilise VT3 collector voltage, works against AGC.

Nice little radio..Does it have regeneration? I can say it's past 22 ,the reception is better in the night ..I built something similar , maybe i will try this one too 😊.

Theoretically - without regeneration ( trim. potentiometer for correct DC biasing for AM demodulator ). Practical - internal positive feedbacks, or parasitic capacitance create little regeneration ( regeneration controll - changed space between coupling coil and main LC tank's coil ).

This receiver can pick up weak signals, without external wire antenna. Circuit use direct current biased AM demodulator ( transistor ) and it works better than germanium diode without biasing.

@@awaismushtaq5719 Circuit easy starts to oscillate - need move couping coil away from main LC tank's coil or flip coil. "Ground" ( common (-)) connect to main's LC tank's coil's one or other end can reduce oscillations. How to trim AM demodulator biasing? Connect multimeter to end's transistors base and emitter circuit and with trim pot set about 0,5...0,6V and in earphones can hear hissing start. Next - tune to strong AM station and with trim pot set best sound qality. Next - tune to weak station and trim pot set to better sound ( finish ).

Для SSB 3,5 МГц более подходящим будет регенеративный приемник. Эта схема также могла работать в диапазоне 3,5 МГц, но с пониженной чувствительностью. For 3,5MHz band better use regenerative receiver. This circuit can work on 3,5 MHz band but with less sensitivity.
