Footage from my trip this morning from the Metrorail Transfer Station in Hialeah to the spectacular Brightline Miami Central Station in Downtown Miami.
Today, Saturday the 13th was the official "Soft Opening Day" for revenue service for the shuttle. Yesterday was the ceremonial opening.
This was Southbound Train P665X that left the Metrorail Transfer Station at 9:16a (scheduled for 9:10a) and arrived Downtown at 9:36a (scheduled for 9:30a).

Once the train leaves the Metrorail station, there is a great view of the IRIS connection between the CSX and FEC railroad tracks that was completed ages ago (November 7, 2017 to be exact) for the Tri-Rail service to Downtown.
Consist was a short one (BL36PH loco and two Hyundai Rotem coaches), all three of which were in the new Tri-Rail brand livery.
Was hoping during the filming to catch a Metrorail train running by on the two instances where the elevated tracks crossed above (at NW 27th Avenue) or the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre station that is adjacent to the Brightline station but it was not to be.
The Soft Launch of the Tri-Rail shuttle schedule will go for 2 weeks with 12 trains daily (6 in each direction) between the two stations and then more trains incrementally added from thereon out until the full schedule of 26 weekday trains (13 in each direction).
7 long years in the making (the Brightline Miami Central Station opened on May 19, 2018) . Still not the one-seat ride to Miami, but that will come soon with newer rolling stock.
