Do you not want the mash in the 65 deg or there about? You need to have the HLT water up between 72-76 deg mark before you transfer to the mash tun section. Love the setup!!!

Hi, you are of course right, the temp difference should be at least 10C. During the first brew with the heater loop the temp in the mash still went down, probably becuase of too little heat radiated from the fairly short loop inside the mash tun. I am now working on turning the heat exchange opposite, circulating the mash through the pipe which is then suspended into the HLT tank. I hope this will transfer more heat to the mash tun, as there will be more movement in the liquid. Will see in a couple of weeks when I do the next batch!

Bjørnar Huse can you add a coil into the heat exchanger?
