The trial revolved around Julius Streicher, who was prosecuted by the International Military Tribunal for crimes against humanity. Streicher was accused of inciting violence towards Jews due to his anti-semitic rhetoric disseminated through his newspaper, Der Stürmer. His extreme views earned him personal favour from Hitler, yet even within the Nazi Party, his publication was considered uncouth and obscene. This was the case provided to the participants for the competition.
The Trial started with the Presiding Judge, Bazaf Shahbaz making his introduction, outlining the rules and expectations for the rounds.
Following the introductions, the Prosecution (Team VV3), provided an overview of the factual background of the case. Prosecuting Attorneys Yamema Shahbaz Sohail and Shizza Khan conducted direct examinations of their witnesses, Ayesha Munir and Iqra Khalid as Martin Borrman and Amon Leopold Goethe respectively.
After the Direct Examination was over, the Defence (Team LL1), including Ch Nouman Naeem and Dolat Khan as Defence Attorneys 1 and 2 respectively, proceeded with their cross examination, facing objections from the Prosecution.
Following the cross examination, the Defence called their witnesses, Syeda Dania Batool Zaidi and Shazab Ali as Julius Streicher and Jacob Otto Dietrich respectively. They were directly examined by the Defence and then cross examined by the Prosecution.
The trial concluded with the Presiding Judge delivering constructive feedback to the participants, commending both their performance and that of bailiff. The participants expressed their gratitude to the Presiding Judge. The Trial was thus concluded.
