Thank you for making this great video Dr. Sodok Feia. The use of negative air pressure before filling cell and a low cell pressure before saturation, and the use of CO2 to expel air are just smart. I still have a question. Was the specimen prepared by Pluviation technique later not used, as you tamped sand directly inside the membrane. Or was the sand used for tamping actually from the specimen prepared by Pluviation method since this method decides how much material is needed for a specific compaction state? Thank you.

This is really useful.If you have any demonstration on achieving saturation on a clay sample kindly suggest.Also if you can let me know the manufacturer details and how much it costed you for such system .I also wonder if you have any cyclic triaxial apparatus.

The pluviation technique permits to obtain a homogeneous structure with no singularity of density and to select a given compaction state (density index) as a function of the sand flow rate (intensity of deposition) and the pluviation height

If this is a air pluviation method, a tamper which is normally used in wet tamping should not be used. Flow rate and drop height are the two things used to control the relative density of a specimen

Hello! How do we apply a negative pressure to the sample before filling the triaxial cell? Is it good to use a vacuum pump? I am afraid it would disturb the sample.

You normally apply a negative pressure in the back pressure line, by selecting a negative pressure in the pressure controller. The suction generated should be generated at the top of the sample.

Bonjour, Malheureusement il n'existe pas un vendeur pour cet appareil il a été conçu au laboratoire. En revanche il est pas difficile de le fabriquer par n'importe quel constructeur. Sympa, bien expliqué mais par contre le cameraman est complètement au fraise. La mise au point n'est jamais faite, même pour le mot de fin mdr Enfin bref, merci pour cette vidéo, bonne sur le fond mais mauvaise dans la forme
