@@sonofjack6286 You know, thinking back, there've been a lot of moments where the kid has been clearly oblivious to the world outside his hangar. But not a lot where he's actively lacked a more classic sense of intelligence. He just doesn't delve much into topics that would show it. With things like reading Frankenstein, it's almost more of a sense of "of course I've read it, hasn't everyone?" naivety.

Development work on the AIM-120's reportedly caught up to the 54's reach over the years, but if it is the full monster, the SM6 moved to an air launch role is that same "dear gods, why?" that the 54 was in its era...

The US is allowed to touch its own boats. The ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission) nearly caused me to crash my car a number of years ago when reporting on the biennial Avalon Air Show (it's A Big Deal Down Here). The news announcer said that during the air show, 'The RAAF showed off its Growlers to the public'. I'm convinced that somebody wrote that on purpose just to see how many spit takes they could cause. Or maybe they wanted to quit, but thought it would be less paperwork if they could just get themselves fired, hard to say Down Here sometimes.
