What the difference between a duck tack and a more normal 'hop' tack as shown in your quick tips? Thnx!

Hey John, the main and most important difference between these two tacks is the direction in which you turn/rotate your body as you move your feet. In a regular tack, as you step or hop your feet there is a moment when you'll be looking down the board towards the tail, with your back into the wind. In the duck tack you'll be looking up towards the nose and into the wind as you continue to rotate in the direction that you have carved the board, almost like a twin tip back roll transition but without leaving the water. It's also known as the roll tack, racers use it a lot to get from strap to strap. Hope that helps, enjoy, C&K. Have a look at the twin tip version here - kzitem.info/news/bejne/qLCd22d7fZRieYI

Cabrinha Kitesurfing hi, thanks for the reply! Would the twin tip version be what is called a 'back roll transition'? Hmm, so a duck tack is more a like back roll transition? The normal, 'hop' tack looks more simple. Duck seems like a quite advanced move, as you say racers use it. I guess a normal hop tack would be a better place to start :-) Thanks again for the reply.
