I buy the best I can get, even when starting out I got the best. Not only has it lasted me so far, the more I venture on and now taking a more technical route, I know it’ll continue to keep me safe.

Buy once, Cry once ! When buying gears, I can’t afford to buy cheap, to sell for a fraction of it’s price and then buy the good gears. I buy the best from the beginning. Or at least the best to suit my actual and future needs

People don't care much about their gear and unfortunately it's even worse than that. Most care even less when someone else needs to use it. This is one of the reasons long-hose primary donate should be the default - because at the moment with octos people don't give a shit about the quality, maintenance and treatment of them because they never use it themselves. There's a lot of shoddy gear and training out there, so you should at least know what the best is so that you can make an informed decision on what you will accept below that. Some tec gear isn't even (much) more expensive than the average rec gear.

Love the point of what you are going to do starts the question of what to buy. And are you going to take care of it.

Absolutely! I think a lot of people get caught up in the hype- a well taken care of piece is probably going to outlast the “high end” line if the high end isn’t taken care of. Also so many don’t know the kind of diving they’ll be doing and once again get caught in the hype:)

The gear may last, but will the manufacturer keep supporting it with parts, or will they stay in business?
@TheScubaDivingChannel

@@johnwilliamsscuba6487 yup! In my online courses I discuss doing a little research into health of the manufacturer, and also explain who actually manufactures what (some brands are actually made by same MFG)

Yeah I was wondering the same it’s nice to hear from the older divers in the industry they usually have some very helpful information tips tricks an definitely safety advice I just generally like hearing there thoughts on things🙂👍 my opinion try an go for at least a mid-grade hammer you won’t be worrying about it an you won’t necessarily have to upgrade right away either I guess that’s more speaking from life experiences not necessarily diving but it applies the same 😂 safe diving everyone

This one was from Season 1 that got put on hold because we were going to go back and shoot his workstations and all his crazy stuff at the compound, with the newer video and sound - but haven't been able to do it. So, I'm aiming to get this one out "as is" before Season 2 wraps up =0)

Price and reliability don't always correlate. Further we plan on failures in our planning.
