I remmaped all my most used tasks in FCP to pretty much all the keys in the left half of my keyboard. This way I always have my right hand on my mouse and my left hand does all the operations in fcp. Game changer.

Good stuff Dylan. I prefer making Alias Folder for Sound FX and Music. That way I can categorize sound FX and music accordingly. Learned that trick from Serge M.

@@dylanjohndickerson you mentioned using the Apple Music folder within FCPX. Which throws all your music, jumbled together, without being able to categorize. Hope that makes sense. Then you talk about Sound FX and creating Alia’s folder. Just saying I create Alia’s folder for both music and sound fx.

I like the "BGH" technique, although I have set mine to QWE. I would like to edit with QWE + JKL because that is mindblowing fast. However it works only if there is only one clip or layer on the timeline. I have tried to find the answer but haven't gotten very far: is there any way to "lock" the playhead to a specific track? If I have let's say four tracks (b-roll, a-roll, voice over, music for example) the little ball on the playhead just jumps randomly to the track it likes. If I select a clip and hit blade, the selection is on the part before the playhead and the trim to playhead wont't work because the clip is not selected and for the selection i have to use the mouse every time I split a clip. This is driving me nuts because it seems there just so happens not to be a solution available I really would appreciate your help and otherwise say thank you for the tips in your videos!!
