Happened to me when my first band's singer missed practice and so I sang. I was playing bass, but it was my first time trying to sing and play...but it was actually kinda hard for me. I would eventually just stop playing notes and just sing. Or playing one of my first live shows, I step up to do some simple backing vocals and I end up stepping on the bottom of the mic stand and it's smacks me in the mouth. lol
