Or something like thst to manage the diferent mics? Im stuck on that!! Thks men its good to know someone else is trying smae things

This is something I would also like to know, and I made this video because having spent a lot of time looking around on KZitem, I couldn't find any simple way to trigger drums samples through MIDI. I'm not a technical expert but this was the best solution I could find on my own. The plugin only allows for up to 8 channels I believe. I was also thinking arduino might be a possible solution to this. If you could route 20 mics or whatever type of input source you have into 20 MIDI channels or even into one channel with each input triggering a different note that plays a particular sample, that would be butter. Life would be sweet and you could play a massive array of any sound you pleased. If I do find a way to do that I'll probably make a video about it because I think a lot of people would like to know how to do it

@@sami_elu yes we do!! hehe im not an expert in this either but im looking all trough the internet to find solution to this also so... yes i find MIDI as the finest solution but now im in trouble with the programming in arduino...arduino as you said can only take 8 channels and maybe the posible solution its multiple arduinos toghether but i dont now how to put them and comunicate them each other with just one cable, cause if i cant make that i have to plug 4 arduinos usb and thats not good hahaha. i very like to keep in touch and if it is possible from another via like email or something like that to share knowledge in case we found any solution if youre ok with that!... My name is Kevin and thanks for the answer!

@@sami_eluYes I was wondering about Arduino for that, if you could somehow trigger MIDI events from the serial port?

i tried to replicate your setup, but am having issues. there seems to be some latency, false triggering, and just a general lack of sensitivity to what i'm trying to play on the objects i'm using. do you think that's a mic issue or something i need to calibrate in Ableton? thanks!

hmm, I'll try to answer as best as I can! Latency problems usually are due to your bitrate being too high. Try to lower the bitrate to like 64 or 128 and you probably won't notice the slight latency. False triggering is definitely due to the sensitivity settings of the Trigg plugin, which you will have to tweak until you find the right balance. The contact mic should be firmly attached to whatever surface you're playing on, and you need to make sure it's not picking up vibrations from sources other than the intended object you are using. So my guess is that it's not a mic issue but calibration. Try to set up a regular audio channel where you get the ideal dynamic range from your contact mic(s), then use those same settings with the Trigg plugin and adjust the sensitivity as needed. I had a lot of problems with false triggers but was able to finally get a balance that worked and even was able to use it for live performance in a theater without any glitches. It was pretty tricky to get the right balance though.

Also you might want to use a gate if it's triggering even from the slightest vibrations

@@sami_elu I hope you slept well! I love your video, its really helpful thank you :) I'd like to pick your brains about th einterface you are using... i need something with 24 analog inputs for an intrument i'm relaunching... Seems like youve done som great research so i'd love to know what you think. I'm happy to remburse you for your time :) [sorry for wrong words, i'm dyslexic and no spel check here!!]
