Mine just arrived! Haven't been able to spend much time with it yet but I'm pretty thrilled so far.

Woho! Congratulations! Did you get a nice wood work on your machine? I was lucky to get one where there are super nice textures from the maple wood :)

@@infestedalien Yes! I definitely won the maple lottery as well. My whole studio is dark wood so its a real stand out piece. How are you liking the Trigon so far? I hear so many complaints about it being harsh or abrasive even when the filter is slightly closed. I personally think the sound is creamy and gut grabbing. Would love to hear your thoughts!

@@MagicCvstle Good to hear you also got a nice unit! I honestly think the complaints can be altered from many subjective things. It all seems to be a luck of timing when releasing a product. The Trigon 6 was unlucky to be released when inflation took place and I think people have hard times to make a more narrow choice when you almost get 1 synth for price of 2 looking back before the inflation. I personaly love the look of the Trigon, but my gut-feeling says that most want it to look more dark walnut. I think the first impression do matter alot to what people make their decision on. A product can grow after time but to me I looked way more to the techniqual terms on this machine and then the sound. The prophet 12 is a perfect example of how important timing is on release. I think back in that time everyone was super crazy in VCO and the Novation Peak began to bloom which was the hybrid competitor. This synthesizer is one of many many flavours out there that really satisfy me alot. The ladder filter is known for being a driven filter, a cleaner aproach is prophet 5 / 6 filter. Where the 5 filter is undoubtly more "creamy" and prophet 6 is inspired from the prophet 5 filter without loosing bass on resonance. The OB6 state-variable filter is a balance between prophet and moog filter. What I find very nice with the Trigon-6 improved ladder-filter is that it allows for using it in 2 pole mode. And if cleaner is wanted, just set oscillator volumes much lower and then gain the synth with a pre-amp or a VST-pre-amp to compensate the reduced volume. Conclusion: If the improved Ladder filter didn't drive like it does there would not be a ladder filter! :-) And if this synth do not sell as much as hoped its a higher chance of becomming a gem in the collection in the future!

@@infestedalien Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed post. There are some great insights in there. I haven't been keeping up with the pulse of the synth industry as I've mainly been 'in the box' until I picked up a Hydrasynth. I'm not crazy about its sound, but it's very deep and capable. The sound design possibilities are exactly what I need sometimes. I was then searching for a synth that had some 'cajones', guts, or balls, for lack of a better term, and I landed on the Trigon. It was a split decision between the OB6 and the Trigon, and I finally made my choice. I needed something that could do the heavier, distorted, darker sounds but also serve as a bread-and-butter synth. I think the Trigon is exactly that. I also almost went for the Pro 3 which I'm still considering. Only if I sold the Trigon though. Again, I appreciate your response and thoughtful post. I'll keep you informed on how I get along with the Trigon.

@@MagicCvstle You're welcome and thank you for sharing your experiences. I can understand why you prefeer hydrasynth since a wavetable is a must at some point not to get everything to basic with only analogue. In my case I went for a groove synthesis 3rd wave and still have my Virus TI2 for some few sounds. It's always hard to say what machine fits exact everyone else needs since it's all subjective. Even if the OB6 is super-nice and in its own league it's important to remember that it's way more limited thanks to the 12db per octave state variable filter compared to a Trigon or Prophet 6 but for some that is exactly the only sound they are looking for. I have a Pro 3 and I don't want to misslead you in wrong direction, but according to me it would be a great dissapointment to get rid of a Trigon in replacement for a Pro 3. The pro 3 is undoubtly a fantastic sounding and not to mention fun to program machine. The only thing I can recognize myself in is that the Trigon for some reason is way more organic and brings soo much moog and korg ms2000 vibes at same time. Altho i've spent too little time with my pro 3. What I notice is that it's very handy in music production when you want to have a wide possibility for a mono. However according to what you where looking for I think you nailed the decision perfect in selecting a Trigon 6. Here are some of my favourite features on the pro 3. Oscillator waveshape Extreme modulation possiblity CV source internal external (not used yet tho but amazing to have if you want to go out external into eurorack etc.) Audio input is way more pleasant than a moogerfooger 101 (subjective) Having 3 LFO and 2 Aux envelopes (aux envelopes is very handy for advanced percussion sound design) Sequenser can be used for modulation steps 2 VCO and 1 Wavetable which adds the extra no other do! Oscillator sync sounds good. 3 filters to switch between with an improved ladder filter As you might see I bacically mention the whole synth as a + butI personally I would never replace my Trigon for it, that would not do.

I’m tryna make detuned chords that mimic dark but melodic bleeding party sounds dark and trap like dirty but still melodic almost and party like detuned. I really create a high tempo trap beat with 4 chords. Idk the right way to find the notes for what I’m talking about, it just takes so much time and I just wanna rap and sing but then I gotta make a preset for my vocals and it’s so annoying. Wish finding beats was easier but it’s not, and I feel like I can make a great it’s just takin a whil me:$

I love synths indeed. I've owned and sold many over the years, some do I miss and some was not just for me. Back in the early days (15 years ago) I had Roland D50, Roland V-Synth version 1, JX-8P with programmer, MicroKORG, Korg Z1 but they are long time sold. I mostly regret selling the two roland classics D50 and JX-8P kind of hurts now when they are sought after and to know they was almost in a perfect condition back in the years. Back in the days I used Korgs' drum machines electribe I guess was their name of that series but today I love the TR8S. What drum machine do you prefeer? I checked your videos and you got a nice studio and you are a true artist when listening to the music you make.

@@infestedalien I honestly don’t have a favorite but I’m starting to fall down the rabbit hole for that love for old synths and old drum machines. My 1st drum machine I bought 20 years ago (Roland Mc 909) and I have it till this day. My Mc 909 really needs some tlc it needs to be serviced badly. I do love the step sequencer and ease of use of that unit. I recently just got rid of my Fantom 6 and got 3 new synths 2 here now and one arrives tomorrow. I got the prophet 6, moog sub 25 and the prophet 10. I’m in love with the sequential sound. But I’m new to programming synthesis. Over the years I only just played presets but at this point in my life I’m getting into learning to programming them. You should do tutorials on how to use your synths with dialogue so the audience can follow along because you’d be surprised at how many people want hardware synths but don’t know where to start on how to program them. I know I’m one of them. There’s not enough tutorials on yt on how to program these units and from the looks and sounds of it you know your way around these platforms and you sound good while doing it. Anyways you’ve earned a new subscriber from me. I’ll be in touch to let you know how I like the prophet 10 when it arrives tomorrow. FYI if you’re into the p5 or p10 they have a huge sale rn up to $900 off on the p10 and up to 600 on the p5. Have a good one and thanks for responding back and the kind words on my music.

Mc909 was unknown for me till you mention it, looks nice in the interface and must have been a flagship when released. I understand well why you do like the older synthesizers since they have a musical lifeness to them compared to modern digital. You have selected the best synthesizers according to me. Prophet 6 offers a wide possibility sound with the cleanest filter ever. Prophet 10 offers the dreamy chord sounds and can create warm sounds. The moog sub25 which I belive can create good bass thanks to its transistor ladder-filter which are known for driving the sound a bit to get a warm rich tone. I'm curious over what your impressions are over the Prophet 10! I do cross my fingers and hope you get one with a nice wood work that you will enjoy! Thank you for the advice of tutorial videos. I think it's definently worth a try to create a series and see how they fly on youtube. Thank you for subscribing and have a good one!
