If you increase your 1rm from say 100kg to 120kg, it seems highly unlikely that you wouldn’t be able to perform reps with 80kg or 90kg far quicker than before, even if you got slower at the same percentages of 1rm.

That V graph stuff makes me think he's trying to describe the stretch shortening cycle without mentioning the stretch shortening cycle.

Levelling up with the content. In your opinion, is there a physiological basis (adaptations that are exclusive to loaded jumps) to performing loaded jumps as opposed to sticking to a purely polarized approach that emphasizes heavy resistance training and unloaded plyometrics?

How have you been keeping track of progress in your lifts?

I agree. The block periodization model is immediately contradicted by DUP training examples in the book. Never been a huge fan of the submax eccentrics either. To be fair though he does have his athletes do true eccentric maxes on the split squat lift. Cal has a great mind and I think triphasic is a pretty good model but a lot of it is overly analytical.

I would see eccentric lifting less as translating to plyos but just staying healthy by building your tendons and muscles no?

Cal Dietz says weird shit sometimes that makes me question his credibility. Heard him in a lecture on KZitem allude to his athletes getting "morning glory" because of single leg split squats - because the "supramaximal load" created a testosterone response. 1 inappropriate, 2 nonsense.

You can do this as a mic'd up training session where you go over sections of literature you want to cover. Train, show and discuss what you're doing and then when resting you can cover something in the 2-5 minutes you're not training.
