I’ve been looking for this all summer . It wasn’t easy to find . I had a small sailboat V15 always been a surfer and last year I got an isup. I’m in my sixties and it didn’t take long to figure out paddling upwind is for the birds. I like it for cruising and surfing . Needs a sail! So I’ve been searching and the tiwal was the closest thing I could find but this is it . I was thinking of a flat

Would love to see a comparison between the Maverick, the Tiwal 2 & 3 and the Decathlon Tristar 5s. I think they are going for similar markets and form factor. I guess the Maverick is the most fun, the Tiwals are not far behind. Somehow the Decathlon looks a bit small and with too much safety for kids in mind. One criteria certainly is packing which is where the inflatables come in. Oh yes, how about a rowing kit for the Maverick?

I'd prefer the hard-hull Maverick over an inflatable. The problem with inflatables is that the rubber wears out much sooner than a hard-plastic hull. It starts leaking, or could be torn if you hit anything sharp. I'd go with an inflatable only if storage is a problem (for example, you live in an apartment and there really isn't space for a big non-collapsible board like the Maverick). As for transportation, it's easy enough to carry on top of a car.

@@markrcca5329 Inflatables have been thoroughly proven , particularly in RIBs. Punctures and excessive wear is a non-issue.

You need harness lines on the windsurf boom

Thanks for mentioning this! I can get that windsurfing achieves this by managing the counterforce using the arms! Given this, what small boat do you recommend for someone who is interested in some relaxed stand up sailing up and down my local rivers? What size windsurf do you think I should get thats large enough to be so stable it won’t tip over? Maybe a hybrid sup even.
