I grew up eating this as it's an Italian type dish. Some use olive oil instead if butter, or a bit of both. Try adding cream cheese or a strong cream cheese like Dolcelatte. Hey 🤗 as the designated “pasta pro” of my friend group I encourage you to try this method. if you save some starchy pasta water and form an emulsification with the butter then it evenly coats the noodles. The starch in the water binds with the out lipid in the butter fats to prevent the fats from splitting. If you watch the original binging with babish video or other cooking videos for basic pasta prep it will better break down the food science and why it’s a usefully cooking technique to employ not just for butter noodles but most pasta sauces.

If you want clearer instruction on how to make butter noodles this is how I make them: - Take a medium size pot and fill it with hot water about halfway to 3/4 way (if the water is already hot it'll take less time to boil). The amount of water is based on how much pasta you want but I think it's better to have too much water than too little. (I never actually measure the amount of water I have in the pot, I just eyeball it) - Place on stove and turn on the heat to get the water to boil, (I usually set the heat to a medium) -While the water is heating up add salt to the water, make sure you pour it in evenly, in order to prevent putting in too much just sprinkle an even layer over the the surface of it (like, instead of just pouring the salt into the pot you where it's gonna be concentrated more in one area until the salt dissolves, move it in an even motion across the opening of the pot. idk if this makes sense) - Once the water is boiling add in whatever noddles you want, it doesn't matter what kind. - Stir the noodles around with a spatula (don't use a metal fork like Adam cause the water will heat up the metal and then it'll be to hot to use) to make sure they aren't sticking together and wait for the water to start boiling again - Once the water is boiling again set the timer to however long it takes to make your pasta to your liking, different noodles requires a different amount of time. - Stir the noodles occasionally to make sure they don't stick to each other and stay separate (I usually stir about once every minute) - Once the timer is up test the pasta to see if it is cooked to your liking (I normally take a noodle out and eat that to see if it's done), if it isn't done continue to cook and test them until it is done - Once the noodles are done pour the noodles into a colander/strainer and shake it around to make sure all the water is drained - After straining place the noodles in a bowl that is large enough for the amount of pasta you have but also has enough room to stir in the butter - Add butter, the more pasta you have the more butter you'll need, and stir the noodles to make sure all the noodles are evenly coated in it. (If I make butter noodles for my family, we are a family of 5 so I normally add about 2-3 tablespoons of butter, maybe 4 [the stick butter we have is measured out so I just cut the squares and place them on the noodles] so hopefully that helps when it comes to how much butter to add, if you are only making it for yourself 1-2 tablespoon is probably enough.) the heat from the noodles will melt the butter so just continue stirring the noodles until they are evenly coated - Eat, if it's too bland for you you can sprinkle more salt over them and other seasonings if you want to give it more flavor. I've never actually added parmesan cheese to it so yeah, that's how I make it.

Plus we all know Trish doesn’t have great taste when it comes to food, she has the pallet of a toddler, I wouldn’t trust anyone who eats all their food without sauces she’s a dry girl she doesn’t dip anything into any sauce that’s beyond weird.

Thats kinda........saying her pallete is like a toddlers is kinda annoying to hear. Because someone doesn't like sauces means they're basically a toddler??? The sauces from fast food places are disgusting especially ketchup. Do you know what its made of???? Disgusting. Ive also heard its a thing for people who are neurodivergent because theyll usually have sensory issues and that includes textures of food. Lots of people have sensitive pallettes and thats what people call picky eaters. We dont have the pallette of a toddler, ours are just sensitive to the point where we cant have certain things.

Buttered noodles is a "struggle" or "lazy" food--not supposed to be fancy or bougie. You can use any pasta you have on hand. I've never made a sauce. It's just cooked pasta, drained, then add some butter & salt (maybe some pepper and parmesan cheese if you have it). Not a ton of butter, just enough to coat the noodles. That's it. I had it a lot as a kid, and buttered pastina is a nostalgic comfort food for me. The fact that this is trending is insane.

Butter noodles is known as the "poor man's food" in my family. It's cheap and easy to make. Because I grew up in a low income household, I grew up eating this and other none expensive food. As an adult (even tho I'm only 20 lol) I still eat this because why not, it's good! Especially when you get creative and add different types of cheeses, veggies, and seasonings

Trish’s video made me try the pasta water butter noodle technique too. I’m from the U.S. and have had them before. I think it may be more of a regional kind of meal and I usually think of it as something parents make for their kids.

Adam i love this, I can't believe you've never had buttered noodles, they serve it in quite a few restaurants here in America and its so good. Its actually pretty commen to eat buttered noodles if you're broke or in a hurry and don't want to make a white sauce/don't like red sauce. I even add a little bit of milk sometimes instead of water to help it taste a bit more creamy, and season it with rosemary and other things for flavor instead of just salt. ♡ it also helps to use mozzarella or parmesan.

Can I just say Adam´s channel is one of the highlights of my day? Like, the besties are all so funny and he is always interacting and addressing the viewers. One of the most positive people out there I think, even when it's time to talk about drama or difficult subjects he is straightforward and unbiased. And then he also comes out with videos like this or the life update/mukbang in the park. Thank you so much for being so great Adam :)

Yeah here in the states, I’ve referred to this as buttered noodles as well. Simply, butter and spaghetti sounds dragged out. But In Italy they have something similar except it’s cheese and pepper. Cacio e Pepe. Sometimes, instead of cheese I’ve just used butter and it’s equally as good. 🤷🏻♀️
