Конкретно этот ролик вызывает беспокойство и жалость: скрюченный спящий малыш с загнутой шейкой! Не может потянуться свободно, мамочка даже на руки не берет, не стимулирует потягушки. Такой чудесный малыш, жаль.

For anyone who does not approve of the swing and/or swaddling. First off, swaddling is to represent the hug of a womb. If it is used all day, every day, then it is not wise but if it is used for sleeping only, then there is no harm . The swing is not for looks or ego. It is also a way to comfort the baby as if in the womb. Again, if used all day, every day, then of course the baby will suffer from an attachment disorder. I have been around for decades and have never come across an attachment disorder due to any one of these two helpful ways of comforting a baby. These well-known ways have been done fr generations and if they were so destructive, then the medical community would have made itself heard to discontinue these things as they did with babies sleeping on their stomachs was a contributor of SIDS. While a baby is swinging, the mom, dad, or sibling, or caregiver can get a bottle ready, dishes done, or a shower. I will not assume that because I watch a video, I can make a wide sweeping judgment as to how long, or the reason why someone is using or doing something. A person is much more likely to listen to a "suggestion" or "opinion" if it is done in the tone of someone who cares or is genuinely concerned and not someone who knows it for a fact and the mother/dad are made to feel like they are ignorant and neglectful. You can catch flies better with sugar than vinegar.

There’s no biggest mistake than to think that because the medical community says something, than shall be correct. This way of thinking, lacking of any personal search of information first and then critical thinking, is typical American. Medical community, as a matter of fact, sometimes is wrong , sometime in good faith, sometime in wrong faith. Now, talking about swaddling no, swaddling yes. As per my personal and other’s experience, and upon critical thinking, I believe that swaddling isn’t necessary to make feel secure newborns unless parents make newborns feel like is a necessity for them to be swaddled in order to feel secure. In other words, similarly to the pacifier, if parents swaddle them since they are born, they will want to be swaddled. I believe that all they need is to feel appropriately warm, cosy and lived, and if wrapped, in a very loose way would be more than sufficient. We shouldn’t forget that once born, their environment isn’t any longer the womb , so there is no reason why we have to make them believe they still are. They can be very quite and secure ( like my son was), without being swaddled.

@@italiani41 ok. Swaddling. I wish I had known this in the 70s. Would have helped me enormously. Yes my boys are fine but one in particular would have found more comfort. I did the best I could with cuddles etc. however it wasn't easy. Just my personal observation.

Uh, yes I do think it's comfortable...for a 2 month old. I'll refrain from insulting you given your obvious lack of insight and insulting tone, but you should know that swaddling babies at this age is a very common and highly recommended way of helping them fall asleep and stay asleep. Regardless of that, our baby LOVED to be swaddled, it was the time he was most relaxed and comfortable, and he especially loved to be swaddled and put in his swing to have a nap.

@silverbushb448

@@kaladwarakanath5503 i notice that, when moms unwrap their swaddled babies, they almost always immediately go into fits of stretching. By "fits of stretching" I just mean that they start stretching and never stop, as if they can't stretch enough. Babies who are not swaddled dont do that though bc they were able to move their muscles during sleep. I understand the concept of making baby feel safe secure and snuggly, but I don't think interfering with freedom of movement is the ideal way to make them feel so.

What in the actual F are you trying to say?
@kaladwarakanath5503

Ken: I think this person is trying to say two things: One, don't make the baby sit up before he is sitting up on his own. The semi-reclining position is bad his back; Two: Modern baby furniture like the swing may look nice, but they cannot replace for a baby being held in parent's loving arms. I agree with the first thought and the second too, if the baby is hardly held by parents for feeding, rocking and cuddling. I'm speaking about babies in general.

He may have been dreaming if he did not appear to recognize or react to you right away. Even toddlers or any of us can sort of awaken and still be asleep for a moment or two before our brain starts to register what is now around us in our wakefulness. It is good you were gentle with him and did not shock him out of sleep. You were sweet and gentle with him and spoke directly to him, but did you have to awaken him? Does he have to eat every so many hours to gain weight per the doctor? He was not real hard to wake up, but he would have awakened when he registered hunger, etc. As he grows, except when in a sleep regression, he will eat more and sleep longer for naps as part of being able to hold more food. So long as his daytime sleep schedule doesn't interfere with overnight.
