People talk about how underrated this or that band is all the time. Triumph was a truly underrated band and Rik is absolutely a world class guitar player. Still some of my favorite songs to this day.

Its amazing to me to see how young he was and how much talent was pouring out of him at such a young age. Some substantial part of that must be just innate. When I was that age, I didn't have 5% of that talent in anything.

I'm a girl who is almost 40, but my father showed me a bunch of great singers and bands. I always liked Rik's guitar versatility! He is amazing! I'm never get tired of his singing talent, but his guitar playing is a class art! I love TRIUMPH and his solo... Holy ghost... it's incredible! Lots of love from Russia!

Yeah, 58 myself. I have always loved them. If not for MTV I may have never heard of them, don't get much radio play. Saw them in Rochester NY in the 80s, great live band.

Saw them play When the Lights Go Down, Lay it on the Line, and Magic Power last weekend. Only 300 people in the venue, and I was 2nd row. Fight the Good Fight has been my anthem, but Never Surrender is right up there with it lyrically. Triumph songs always inspire.

I watched the documentary about them on Crave and it was bloody amazing. These guys have a dedicated cult following and I've never been one to prefer one band to the other. These guys are awesome

They were even more amazing live. Their light show was even way ahead of the times. To this day I still say they were one of the best live concerts I’ve ever seen. Oh, and Rik still sings and plays amazing so many years later.

Rik Emmett still tours. He's lost some of his range, but sounds good. You can look up the videos by putting his name in the search on KZitem. The man is 65 yrs old now. I was lucky enough to see them on tour back in the day. Yes, I'm old too. ;-)

The "other" Canadian Trio...not for me. These guys never got a fair shake or an easy time of it. Rik Emmett is so underrated it's ridiculous. I mean seriously, he plays lead (amazingly) AND sings lead. Yes, Gil sings lead as well and doing that as a drummer, I understand, is also very difficult. Basically the 'cup runneth over' for these guys, there's so much talent here and they are the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. I feel privileged to live just minutes from them.

It was 1987. I entered the local record shop and bought me Nightranger "Dawn Patrol" and Triumph "The Sport Of Kings". When my sister died that year I listened to this two records all day long just to cope up with my sorrows :-)

I saw the Never Surrender Tour in Omaha - when Rik played the intro to When the Lights Go Down and one of the solos in the song it was on a flat steel guitar with a ton of distortion - freaking awesome

Don't you know a part of you is a part of me! Never surrender is my fav song in 2021 because living in BC this past year has been challenging. First covid, then summer forrest fires and now fall floods. I am ok but there are many who have lost a loved one, or a home, or their farms, or livestock. I definitely feel their pain and listening to this beautiful song brings me hope for a better year to come. I enjoy seeing Rick effortlessly sing and play and how much he loves to entertain. You are all Canadian treasures!❤❤❤

No chance. Rikk Does still sound good, but he's losing power and can't hit the highs much at all now...what is he, 64 or something? IMO his voice couldn't handle touring as Triumph. There will be no reunion, they are much too smart for that. I like Marty Friedman's point of view that he wouldn't go back to Megadeth because the risk of tarnishing what they had already accomplished was too great.

I have been a fan of Triumph since my Jr high and high school days. This song in particular has so much meaning for me. I was diagnosed with Leukemia almost 3 years ago at 48 yrs old and am determined to never surrender to it. Thankfully our kids are grown, but the thought of leaving my precious wife of 31 years is too much to even think about. I realize we all will pass, but there is no reason I can't fight for as much time as I have with my family.

Triumph is such a rare treasure! It's not everyday at all that a lead singer is also lead guitarist & incredible at both! I mean just listen to those high notes & hot licks!! Aeesome band all around! Go boys!!

All factors considered, I might agree. I consider Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band to be #1 in relevance and longevity. Triumph only recorded for about 15 years (1975 - 1991).

I'd have to say top 2 Them or Rush. Me. I like early Rush but love all Triumph. I think you know who I prefer🤘😎👍

I seen triumph in 1986 at Toledo Sports Arena. I had such a big crush on Rik Emmett. Love their music!! He kicks ass on guitar!!

You are speaking as a democrat I know but most of us on the right are not racist and love this country just as much as you do. We don't want to see it fail. We can't have open borders and survive as a country. Trump is far from perfect and is quite the narcissist but at the end of the day he is trying damn hard to keep the country in one piece and united. Don't believe the mass media lies and start thinking for yourself...

Great comment don the music industry has got very dark. The bad men that see it as controlling the masses it was said if we control the emotions of masses we control them anyway. The don't want feel good powerhouse music positive. Like this on the air waves I love truimph no comes close to triumph well maybe rush and yes
