I ride the ktm 790 on track. And i had a 2013 street triple r and love it Much more. The non-ajustable fork on the ktm and too Soft rear shock is a pain for bumpy track. this street triple is a way more advanced bike than what i got and mine was better than the ktm. I Do not own the ktm 790.

@@raphaellacasse-linteau Sure but the fs450 isn't even street legal, and you replace the piston every 50 hours according to the maintenance schedule. That doesn't describe the 701's LC4 engine at all. Valve service is every 7000 miles. They are somewhat comparable. I own a 701 Supermoto and I'd like to know what the RS is like. Clearly I understand the 701 is down on power by 40% but it's also about 80lbs lighter in curb weight. I can read the spec sheet. I'm curious if anyone's ridden them both.

What I am finding with all these current reviews is that it would appear that either the journos have been told not to mention what parts are absolutely identical as the out-going model or they have not done their research to know what hasn't changed - either of which is just poor journalism. So from what I understand (but hasn't properly been clarified): 1. Peak power is identical to the outgoing model. Both have 121bhp 123PS. The new bike allegedly has 0.2bhp more from what I have seen. 2. The mid range torque HAS been increased by 9% and peak torque rpm point lowered (to what hasn't yet been reported) and is 2Nm more than the out-going model. 3. The brakes (front and rear) are the same as the out-going model. 4. The front brake master cylinder and lever are Brembo (as per the out-going model). 5. The suspension is the same as the outgoing model. 6. The quick-shifter is standard on the out-going model, the new one has the addition of an auto-blipper on the down-shift as well. 7. I have seen specs that state the bike is 6kg heavier (no doubt due to the extra emission requirements of Euro 5) than the out-going model, but this is not being mentioned, just glossed over that "the weight is still best in class". I can only assume journos have been asked not to mention this in the launch videos, as I have yet to see the weight stated on any of the launch videos. How come I can know about this, but a journo whose job it is doesn't mention all these (key) points? I look forward to a review that makes me feel that the person is not trying to pull the wool over my eyes....... It would seem as if you're all just regurgitating the launch-press-pack, rather than reporting your own views / opinion?

I’ll preface this by saying that I am a Street Triple owner and Triumph fan. However... that’s because all of these ‘reviews’ aren’t much more than rehashed press releases. Additionally if you’re getting a trip to Cartagena to play on a Street Triple are you really going to say anything bad that might stop you going on another one? Essentially this is a remodel of the headlights and a tweak of the engine and exhaust to pass the E5 emissions testing. As far as I can tell basically everything else is the same.

It's why I don't watch "launch reviews" or "firt thoughts reviews" - any type of review where the journo has been invited (all costs paid) to a warm country for a weekend at the track to listen to the marketing schpiel then vomit the same thing back to their audience. I wouldn't have clicked this video if they had been honest in the title about what it is.

Cornering ABS is a must, my 2019 Speedy RS has it and saved my life after avoiding a possum, it enables you to brake very hard whilst turning/leaning without the front washing out, truly amazing! I would have went down on my 2017 Street Triple no question. It is really clever technology, so from now on I will only ride a bike with Cornering ABS on the street, safe riding.

Thank you for a great video on the street triple RS, I just bought my 1st road bike back in November 2019 it's a 2013 street triple S that only had 1819, miles on her. I'm not sure but i thank my bike makes around 105 HP. The bike is absolutely incredible, the way it handles, and the sound it makes God Smile, and everything is still fully stock. I have always rode dirt bikes but it did not take Me Too! Long to transition to the way a street bike rides. What an incredible bike that street triple is the power and speed is incredible. When I hit 3000 miles on the odometer, I took my Street triple to the triumph dealership to have it fully serviced, the bike checked out beautifully. But there was a problem,,,, sitting in the showroom floor was a 2020 street triple RS my heart melted. My 2013 street triple S is like brand new and I love her so much but God that 2020 street triple RS, is incredible. I have been thinking about possibly trading and getting the 2020 RS. I do like a lively bike and I mainly ride the streets, any advice would be greatly appreciated. From Freddie in North Carolina happy trails.

Don't like how far the entire speedo&lights seats from the rest of the bike . Looks like attached in a hurry, why not to make bracket shorter, this would give front of the bike more aggressive looks plus it would flow better with the rest of the bike

This bike causes me so much conflict. I had a 2015 Street Triple R and struggled to find a suspension setting that worked for me on the roads - it was always too hard no matter how much I tweaked (I’m a lightweight, might be something to do with it). I got a Tiger 800 which is easier to ride but it doesn’t excite me! I want another Street Triple, ideally R or RS, I just hope I don’t end up regretting it

@@paintup46 I think it's because they've mounted the dash and headlight to the frame instead of the triple clamp like most nakeds do. I don't understand why though, all it does is force them to mount it way out front to keep enough clearance for steering. Silly design IMO.

So it's not a different bike, despite the styling. It's just slight improvements to an already fantastic formula. Question is, why buy this over the old one when the old one was more than adequate enough and (I am assuming prices will drop now this arrived so) cheaper to? Unless the improvements alone is enough to justify paying extra. 🤔

That's the million dollar question. Right now (state-side) Triumph is offering $1,000 dollars off new '19 RSs. So, the question is, does an updated screen, more mid-range torque, a new exhaust, an auto-blipper, and updated styling make you want to spend that extra $1,000. That's not even taking into account that dealers are probably going to want to get rid of 2019 stock, so you might be able to save more than just the $1,000. It's something I'm thinking about, that's for sure.
