This is good information. I tried a set of the first generation Pilot Roads on my Speed Triple and the steering feel went completely down the drain. Went back to Pilot Power 2CT and the steering was back to feeling great. I now have a Speed Twin and will need to pick a tire once the stock tires wear out. May give the latest gen Pilot Road 6 a try. Great content. Thank you!

Thanks, Chuck! I'll upload my thoughts once I've covered 1k or so on them.

Just for clarity UK law is a minimum of 1.6mm for cars. It’s 1mm for motorcycles. Not a huge difference but could be worth a few hundred miles more. 👍

Good Choice! Had them on my Moto Guzzi V85, felt amazing, especially in the wet, they should last you more than 2500 miles for sure.

You should have installed Michelin POWER 6! Ask around and you'll see that they're made for this type of bike!

Road 6 are ample for knee-down angles on the road. Supercorsas would be my pick for track days, but I don't want to tempt fate!

Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed and appreciate your videos about the Street Triple. I have the exact same bike on order hopefully collecting in the next month. Although I had already chosen to buy one, when I found your channel and your videos it has really helped, especially with accessories and recommendations by you. Its also confirmed I have made the right choice of bike.

Thank you so much, Marco. You definitely made the RIGHT decision! So much so that 7 other friends have now bought one - and they love it too. It's the best bike Triumph has made this century. Enjoy my friend!

You’ll get loads more miles on these, maybe 3x. Had them (5’s) on my Tracer and I’ll put a 6 rear on my 765 soon.

Thanks, John. Once they got 20-30 miles on them they started to feel good. I have about 250 miles on them now, and they'll get 250 more on Saturday. Little this side of a slick with tire warmer will beat a SuperCorsa V3 for outright grip, and perhaps agility too. But the Road 6 genuinely aren't far off, at least on the road. And they should be even better in the wet, and last maybe 3 times longer I'd estimate. I'll probably do an update video in another week or two. I have 6 close friends with the latest model Street Triples now, four of which have moto2's! Everybody loves this bike and I'd can't get enough of my RS - those moto2's are too common! 😆

The tires look amazing. Almost perfect for road riding here in WA. Let me know what you think once there’s a few miles on them.

Enjoy your videos. Just got a yellow rs on order for myself. Trading in a bike with road 5’s with 9000 miles on them and still looking good on their tread. How does the road 6’s feel on the rs? That’s my plan for my bike in the wet state of Washington but I’ll keep those nice sticky tires for track use.

A fantastic choice. I couldn't be happier with my yellow RS and MCN just voted it their bike of the year - they've been publishing weekly for 70 years, so have tested a bike or two! The Road 6 work extremely well in the dry, but especially in the wet and chilly temps that WA often gets. Have fun with the supercorsa's this coming spring/summer when your bike arrives, but then switching to Road 6 makes perfect sense if you're mainly going to use it as a sporty road bike. Anyway, good for you, enjoy my friend!

How did you find the Pirell SuperCorsa tyres in the damp and wet?
@RichDunn

TBH they're the best tire I've ever used. Period. And unlike some reviewer's views, I've found them to warm up quickly and grip superbly wet or dry. However, they're expensive, in short supply, and wear out fast. They are the perfect summer or track day tire for this bike. But if riding it all year around, commuting on it, or doing longer riders, then Michelin Road 6 make the most sense. I have a couple of thousand miles on the Road 6 now and they barely look worn at all and are great in the dry and excellent in the wet. The Pirelli's have a slight edge in the dry and the Michelin's have the edge in the rain and longevity stakes. I hope that helps.

@@RichDunn Yes, that does help. The Road is is quite costly too, so I was also looking at the Metzeler Sportec M9RR, which is apparently similar, but less track focused, than the Supercorsa. I'm test riding an RS tomorrow and am thinking of swapping out the Supercorsas for the M9RR tyres. The bike i'm testing looks to have 2000 miles on the OEM tyres, and the front only has 3mm tread on it, back is newer though, maybe 4-5mm. Hence replacing them. Just not sure how much tread they have when new.

@@NatsWright That bike has probably been run fairly gently. My tires were passed their best by 1.5k and completely toast by 2.7k. My bike has now done 5k so if I had stuck with the Supercorsa's I's need another set by now. But the Road 6 still has 5mm front and 6mm rear (legal limit is 1.6 mm UK & US), which is outstanding. The grip, agility, and warm up time are barely different to the Pirelli's on the road, but the wet weather grip is better (huge sipes dispersing water) and longevity is really impressive. The Sportec is well-liked but I've never preferred a Metzeler to a Pirelli or Michelin in my 40+ years of riding, so IMHO it's hard for me to recommend anything other than the Road 6, which would be great on a track day, and is an excellent real-world tire for sporty riding / having some spirited fun on the road.
