nice to see the engine so far forward help the handling no end. Any problems with the forks and the oil cooler? are the barrel Norman Hydes. The 3 gl tank rely suits the frame Nice one

lol omfg thats great.. was just thinking of the old saying involving a monkey and a peanut.. its one thing that I hate about bikes is that you sit on top of them instead of in them. and me being 6'7ish it makes it worse, cant imagine how bad itd be on one like that. bad enough sitting on my fathers 65t120C and 74 T150V

@helstontvx i agree the new triumphs are great bikes but that does not alter the fact that the old ones were based on arcaic engineering when they were new

Can you give some informations about the engine? Is it a Hyde cylinder? And head? Bore & stroke? carburettors?
@MarkNParker
13 жыл бұрын
@trident1702 its not my bike, but the cyl is Hyde and uses a stroked crank, I think the bore and stroke is around the same as a 650 twin 71 X 82? I don't think the head is Hyde, the carbs are amal Mk 2s probably 30 or 32mm

a three cylinder trident is very rare because they all fucked up in double quick time try and find one that has not been rebuilt at least ten times

They don't fuck up unless you don't clean the sludge traps in the crank, I've had mine since 1975 and still have 100psi on start up. the high piston speed meant you had to run them in, 1500miles was a reason for blowing smoke if rushed .

Thats because you are of german heritage you would ride a different bike if you were born of a different race !

Triumph was founded in Coventry by two German immigrants, Siegried Bettmann and Moritz Schulte, they both came to Coventry from Nuremberg. Bettmann chose the name Triumph due to it being understood in most languages. He also opened a Triumph motorcycle factory back home in Nuremberg, it was known as TWN (Triumph Works Nuremberg).

its because its reliable i would gladly have a new triumph because they are bullet proof, but people look on these old british bikes through rose tinted glasses they were in fact a load of old tosh

This "load of old tosh" as you call it, won the Isle of Man TT five years in succession. The facts speak louder than your "old tosh".
