Hi Andrew, I’m a Troopy owner over the ditch in NZ and I bought a Troopy after your comparison video with the Defender 110. Unfortunately there isn’t the same market for aftermarket Troopy products here in NZ as Australia, but I’m slowly building my Troopy into an overland vehicle and have been using your videos as guidance. Hopefully in a few years I might have something similar to your beast! Keep up the great work and I look forward to watching a 6x6 build series soon! Cheers, Andy

G’day Andrew, yes 100% bought the troopy because of your build, beginning of May this year I meet you in person at QuickPitch campers at Wangara, Jakkie gave you a call and you downed tools ( editing Simpson dessert trip ) to drive over to meet me, I told you then that I had a dual cab on order and cancelled it to build a troopy like yours, am over the moon with the build that PDP/QuickPitch put together for the cook and me, have a heap of photos of both vehicles park side by side and you sitting in mine, thanks again for your time that day mate ( well over an hour chatting 😬👍 ) Cheers Darryl

Hi Andrew. I am sure if you had picked the engine revs up to 1500rpm the alternator would then have kicked in to it's maximum output whatever it is rated at, in your case, by the sound of it. 40amps. You need to communicate with Toyota and indicate to them you would like to aquire a mine spec 70 series extra cab Landcruiser 6x6 with extended chassis. I'm a corrosion engineer currently employed in WA mining sectors and recently purchased my Landcruiser in this specification. When filling in my application to purchase, a comparison document explained all differences between civillian and mine spec Landcruisers. These differences are very extensive, from minor updates to major reengineering modifications, numbering 340 in total. On receiving the Cruiser, applying the extra necessary equipment and completing several expeditions, my only real compliant is it is not a carpark friendly vehicle due to the extended wheelbase and height. Hope this is of interest. Great series Andrew.👍👍

Hi, Andrew @ 4xoverland if you are really still thinking of doing a 6x6 79 look at the Jmacx 6x6 system. All coils either 70 series or 200 series Land Cruiser. They guys who created the Jamcx 6x6 system had used the Multidrive on along with being the top field brass Amy when the Amy where testing the G wagons. They took the best of the best and built their own system and it's also cheaper than the Multidrive and runs on all Coils no leaf springs! Furthermore, there are no modifications to the driveline such as drive shafts, transfer case etc all remains unmodified and OEM. If you are still got at want for a 6x6 give Jase from Jmacx a call and he will hook you up.
