To Test Fiber Optic Sensor:
1. Remove fiber from the sensor ports.
2. Plug one end of fiber into illuminated port and block the fiber optic with your finger. The second end of the fiber should turn red. If the second fiber does not illuminate, illuminates dimly or illuminates white, the fiber may be broken and need to be replaced. However, continue to check for other issues.
3. With the first fiber in the illuminated port, insert the second fiber into the other port.
4. Again, block the fiber optic with your finger. The middle indicator light on the sensor should illuminate, along with the running lights below the three indicator lights.
5. If the middle indicator lights or the running lights do not illuminate, check for obstructions in the sensor.
6. Remove the fibers from the ports.
7. Remove the sensor cover and the fiber ports and check for O-ring obstructions.
8. If necessary, re-seat the O-rings in their proper position.
9. After re-seating O-rings, replace the ports and reattach the sensor cover.
10. Insert the fibers and cover the fiber optic to test. Middle indicator light and running lights should illuminate.
