Despite his seemingly completely out of control, chaotic lifestyle, Mick Jagger is very self disciplined in some respects that matter. You don't get that good at music or to stay as fit and slim etc and grow his wealth, keep his band together so long and also manage such a "complex" family set up, the way he does. Without putting in a the necessary hard work and self discipline required to succeed on the rocky road less travelled Mick and Keith and his band mates travelled

Wow, this is great! Thanks for sharing. I was a teenager when I lived in Brazil & Mick toured there a bit. The Stones, if I recall correctly, participated in the first Rock & Roll Rio concert that went on for about 3 days. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go but a lot of my friends at school were able to go. If I recall correctly, he went to the city I lived in there & I was finally able to see them, it was my fist concert! It was also my first or second rock & roll tape. An actually interesting story is one time, if I recall correctly, he was in Rio & he was filming a show & a close family friend who was an actor participated in it too. That’s when he was with Jerry & our friend said Mick wasn’t very nice to her at the set & messing around with other women. I was very disappointed with him.

@toby mare possibly the reason he would hurt his lady loves has to do with if he had an unresolved childhood issue, and so he takes it out on people like Jeri Hall, a subconscious turmoil surfacing with his distaste for loving women in a certain stage in life, revenge and bitterness are cruel partners

After 2 songs, the police stopped the show, and ordered everyone to sit down, not to scream, and clap at the end of each song or the show would no longer go on. Of course, no one listened. The show was ended. Fans began fighting with the police and one fan threw a glass beer bottle which broke when it struck an officer in the eye, blinding him. There are still rumors that Brian Jones was killed. Did Mick ever say something about Brian's sudden death? Anna Wohlin, Brian's girlfriend reecently wrote a book where she claims that Brain was killed. "Brian Jones has been hailed as one of the truly influential pioneers of modern music. As a founder of the Rolling Stones, Brian's music style and personality made him a star. But his arrest on drugs charges in 1967 sent him into a drink-and-drugs fuelled depression and his life slipped out of control. It was then that he met Anna Wohlin. He pursued her relentlessly, and they fell in love. How could they have guessed that a trivial domestic dispute would result in the most puzzling death in rock 'n' roll history? Anna was a witness on that tragic summer evening. In this book, she breaks her silence, to tell the truth about July 3, 1969-"the night Brian Jones was killed".

The Stones are all great performers in their own individual ways, especially Mick with his powerful stage presence and huge vocal range and Keith doing incredible magic on guitar. But,as with other great groups eg ABBA, their greatness as a band is the total sum of their individual parts played by talented members, all meshing in nicely together to produce the perfect ginished musical output we fans love to experience. Once the bands break up, this special kind of group magic just evaporates, even though the individual performers are still great musicians. But many such bands do break up, often due to the pressures of such a cruel industry as music and Big Artistic Ego syndrome all successful artists need to succeed, but which, unchecked, can also be their demise because it destroys good relationships needed to produce goid music. We see this time and time again with great bands.

As a person I can't have much respect for him... greedy, attention whore, immoral, lecherous, drunken, selfish, etc etc... but he is damn good at it and pushed the limits that's for sure. The Stones caused the Altamont tragedy by refusing to go to a better arena that wanted a portion of the royalties from the film... Jagger would not give up one cent. They paid the Hells Angels 500 in beer to be the security.... they left a wake of unpaid hotel, limo, restaurant, service bills on the 69 tour also. They have been linked to the process church and dabled in satanism towards the end of the 60s

The 1972 arrest was in Providence, RI, not Boston. The mayor of Boston had to ask the authorities in RI to release them so they could play their concert before a riot broke out. Keith had told the photographer 'no photos'. The guy kept snapping pictures, so Keith took off his belt and nailed the guy with the buckle end.

1:37 "But back in the day, they were one of the most dangerous bands out there." Yea, when they had a free concert at Altamont and hired hells angels to keep people in check. That was the end of free love, and the beginning of that which is America today.

Right. Altamont, the death of the three rock n'roll stars, the Manson killings, the shootings at Kent State. Peace and love wasn't working. That was our chance to make America great and it didn't happen. The right wing rose up to kill the Kennedy's and Dr. King. It's been downhill ever since.
